Sudden Completely Spontaneous Effort to Discredit Greenspan Begins

Who said Bush man?

FOX is obviously slanted in its political leanings. It's clear from the titles of the articles they display, even if the articles themselves contradict the titles.

That seemed to be the case here, as the title seemed to pose doubt about Greenspan's skill while the article itself was complimentary. I had never noticed a consistent partisanship in MSNBC either way, and I was curious if this was a discrediting effort for either his War for Oil comments or his subsequent clarification.
About one post before mine and you will find who said "Bush".

Anyway, MSNBC is the anti-fox. They even have almost a complete set of opposite editorial shows including one with a smart, articulate, liberal with a dork in a bowtie for the conservatives.

So because he was above me I have to defend Bush?

I guess I'll attribute everything Darla and Cypress say to you!!

"Dammit Damo why are you a Socialist? You called yourself one right in the post above yours!"
When did I say anything about you defending Bush? Man, this thread went way off track, one post by uscit and the whole thing starts becoming a "I don't support bush" circle jerk.

Look. I mentioned Bush because I assume that is who would "suddenly" want to discredit him. At least that has been the assertions of the libs in this thread.

I'm just messing with you Damo. You guys have pretty much convinced me. I was more posing a question than asserting an concrete opinion about the article anyway.
It is interesting. You have to admit it was compelling enough to have a conversation about it pretty much all day.

There's no doubt, the federal reserve and it's fiat currency abomination has got to go.

Power in our society no longer is gained through innovation or any other means. Power is gained through positioning oneself as close as possible to the source of money CREATION, and this is slanting society horribly. But of course, many prefer the certainty of totalitarianism to the chaos of equality.

Greenspan was great last night on the daily show. He came right up to the precipice of truth, and backed away ever so slightly, just to avoid the black helicopter crowd.

Do you honestly think we could eliminate the Reserve even during a single Presidency?

I think it is so far entrenched now the process to its elimination alone would be overwhelming.

Friedman talked about replacing it with a computer program.

See I get called extreme by Cypress and the lefties, but really I'm a good bit more moderate than you on some issues. I think it would require quite a transitory phase to get the US government where we want it. I would support an eventual goal of anarcho-capitalism, but it's infeasible right now and seems unrealistic even the future.

Of course, it will take transition. Friedman's idea is not a terrible one.

You should read For a New Liberty. In the closing chapters Rothbard talks about strategy and how we should neither abandon the ideal nor be so evangelical that we reject any interim measures. The failure of liberalism and it hijacking by socialists was largely do to them becoming conservative rather than pushing forward for more freedom. They abandoned radicalism and which resulted in a slow death.

That was Tuesday night. I watched it.

I was responding to or agreeing with iB1's post Damo, keep up. the senate has been doing some stupid stuff lately. I would not put banning books for reasons of political mebaressment beyond them.
Keep up.

And I was responding to yours with equal tongue-in-cheek...

Geez, man. Keep up. Seriously, it is doniston-like. Freaky.

Yeah, it was out of line. Sorry. It sounded funnier in my head before I typed it.

Yeah, you should be sorry. citizen is actually a role model and represents hope to many millions in the U.S. You can actually be and think like him and yet still be a millionaire. Literally thousands of kids in the inner-city should meet him to know hope truly exists.

This would be probably the best policy as it would still fight off deflation. Which is a problem with the Gold Standard. Basically you would increase the money supply {M2} at the same rate of GDP growth. This would cause low inflation, sounder money and would help difuse bubbles. It's too bad politics will never allow this to happen.

You too can learn in time Cawacko. Have patience.
