You're right, I think he either made a mistake or misspoke, you CAN buy SEMI-automatic assault weapons without a background check. So the essence of what he is saying is ABSOLUTE truth. But you can parse words to protect terrorists, murderers, felons and wife beaters...they're people TOO you know, and they NEED to buy their weapons of death without being inconvenienced.

I am not parsing words to protect anyone. The accusation is bogus.

I simply prefer that accurate descriptions be used. But if you prefer to claim that I am trying to protect terrorists, murderers, felons and wife beaters, please share links to any posts I have made that show this. I doubt you can do so.

Wow, so much misinformation it is difficult to know where to start. The description of the Remington 700 is nothing but propaganda and lies. The description of the Ruger Mini14 as a sniper rifle is laughable to anyone who ever owned one.

You are parsing words, and trying to dismiss what he is saying. 99% of what he said is true. Anyone, including terrorists, murderers, felons and wife beaters can 'go down to a gun show' and come away with any legal weapon including semi-automatic assault rifles without a background check.

i am for background checks for all firearms sales

would someone out there please explain how a background check would lead to confiscation of legal firarms

there is a federal law against straw purchases (it is a felony) and with smart phones a person could run a background check - same at a firearms 'show'

the people most opposed to the background checks are people that make money from illegal purchases

you did not answer my question as to how making background checks violates the 2nd amendment or any other 'rights'

Because the method proposed essentially eliminates private sales and would require a national registry to work.
