I know the world is bigger than S.F. and the Bay Area but there's a lot going on here so it's worthy of discussion imo. I mention that in context of your last statement. You may have seen in the news some big tech companies, including Elon Musk, have recently left the Bay Area. There's been a local backlash of sorts that tech people come here, get rich, then leave and 'complain' on the way out. The argument being made is why don't you stay here and try to fix things.

I've never been on the Clubhouse App but there's was a gathering a couple of weeks ago and crime in SF (which has had a big uptick) was a major topic. (This meeting was hosted by tech people.) There was backlash to meeting after claiming not enough black and brown people were invited and it was dominated by white (and Asian) people.

To be clear, I am not speaking from a white people are victims perspective because that's not what this is about. But in this scenario, where they say don't leave town and stay and work to fix things, but don't really speak out either, sends a rather mixed message.

I believe it was time for the NFL to get a hold of itself- after Patrick Mahomes signed a 10 year, $450,000,000 contract with the Kansas City Chiefs, including a $10,000,000 signing bonus, $141,481,905 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $45,000,000.

There is just no way in Hell, that the Kansas City Chiefs even profited $45,000,000 this year.

Not picking on Kansas City, but that is just an example of how out-of-touch the NFL has gotten over the years making this sport such a rich man's sport.

Brady, signed up for two years at $15,000,000 annual. And even that is totally ridiculous.

It's interesting to go back to this in light of the Gruden emails and subsequent commentary. There are so many sub plots here. The NFL, as used by BAC, is basically a proxy for the culture wars and whether you like Trump or not. And BAC speaks about the wealth/value of these teams and their owners and how much its grown, yet the claim is many/most of these owners are Trump supporting (racist) white men (who blackballed Kaepernick). And we're seeing the articles come out now that the league is full of Gruden's and the claim that many people in power in the NFL are complicit in supporting him and others in allowing the mindset to flourish.

So the NFL is a racist league yet its also proxy for showing you support the resistance. This is some interesting stuff.
