In 1945 there were, very roughly, a million Jewish people living in the Muslim lands of the Middle East and North Africa. Now there are around 30,000, mainly in Turkey and Iran. Most of the others went to Israel, of course.

Was that ethnic cleansing, or did the Arab authorities decide it was a good idea to let a lot of Jews emigrate to Israel?

A bit of each, I think. Certainly, once the first Zionist invaders started to raze Arab villages in Palestine, kill Arabs and drive them out I dare say that the Jews of the Middle East couldn't up pegs and run for it fast enough.

It's appeasement. The Izraeli propaganda machinery has numbed outsiders into compliance . Also, it's common practice for Izrael to blackmail people in positions of authority.

If it's blackmail, it's been going on a long time. Israel first participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1973 as a member of the European Broadcasting Union, hosted it twice, and won four times (for what that's worth, lol).
