Supreme Court Poised to Overturn Roe, Draft Opinion Shows

the truth is, the nine justices still have to vote to determine which drafted decision will be the majority opinion.......there's probably a competing drafted opinion deciding the opposite......

If you had read the opinion you would know that Allito basically included the arguments of the majority of judges, I think it is a done deal. I really don't give a shit, if republicans have such a big heart then let them support the some 600,000 unwanted babies that will be born each year (They would just as soon let them starve to death).

This effects a small percentage of the population - women of child bearing age and I suspect mostly single women.
I’d think most married couples are happy to have kids.
It also has no effect on the economy, the border, crime or foreign policy.
BUT it would be a major victory for state’s rights, which IMO is far more important.

No effect on the economy? Who the fuck is going to support these 600,000 unwanted children every year? The vast majority of which are aborted because Mom hasn't the means to care for them. And crime is crime and poverty breeds crime, those 600,000 each year grow up to be far lazier or "criminal" than those trying to immigrate here and are all willing and happy to work.

I thought it was decided in the Constitution.

Like where the fuck does the constitution say anything about abortion? Your rights begin at birth and not before so insinuating that the unborn have constitutional rights is total bullshit. Women DO have constitutional rights and outlawing abortion is definitely unconstitutional.

Fact is Republicans don't give a fuck about abortion
They get them too!
It's the use of abortion as a wedge issue to
Con the holier than thou hypocrites is what they care about

No doubt about that! 20-30 years ago republicans were for womans right to choose, now it's just an issue to separate them from left. Good, some 70 percent of America were for a womans right, maybe some of the assholes will bail on what they thought was "their" party.

It is bizarre to watch liberals accuse the Court of acting “undemocratically" as they denounce the ability of "five unelected aristocrats” — in the words of Vox's Ian Millhiser — to decide the question of abortion rights.

Who do they think decided Roe in the first place?

various reasons say no. this is a draft opinion assigned to the Majority and Alito
long term opposition to the underpinning of Roe V Wade

It was no doubt leaked to put political pressure on such majority to switch votes

No, it was assigned to the majority after Alitto consulted with every justice and got their input. i suppose it is possible that it might not be overturned but someone on the court will have to be changing their mind.

Making abortion a crime AGAIN will close abortion clinics.
And return to Apartment for cash abortions by less then professional workers or sanitary conditions.
Congratulations fascist !

My point exactly. Nowhere.
Your rights begin at birth and not before so insinuating that the unborn have constitutional rights is total bullshit. Women DO have constitutional rights and outlawing abortion is definitely unconstitutional.
What was decided in the Constitution was “federalism”. https://www.justplainpolitics.com/s...Roe-Draft-Opinion-Shows&p=5084515#post5084515
Pay attention.
But I agree with you that the Constitution does not mention anywhere the right to abortion.
But hey, I’m on your side. I’m very much pro-death on the abortion issue .

I personally believe we have a constitutional right to be free from government intrusion into medical decisions.

Which is the basis of the original Roe V Wade decision. Questioning the rights of the unborn wasn't considered because they don't fucking have any! There was no question that women have rights and forcing them to carry a child they do not want is definitely against their constitutional rights so the original decision was a no-brainer. This decision (if it goes through) is saying if states would like to take the most basic of constitutional rights away from their women, that's ok with the supreme court.

Now the right does not exist.

We have no right to any freedom unless it’s specifically states in the constitution.

it negates an incorrect interpretation......

just how the fuck do you conclude that taking away the obvious constitutional rights of women to make medical decisions for themselves as being constitutional? You cannot give constitutional rights to the unborn and take them away from women and since you don't have those rights until born the decision is obvious.

it does not become the majority decision until the justices vote......normally that would not happen for another month......but I agree it was an intentional attempt to try to corrupt the process......

It is the majority decision unless one of them changes their mind. Possible but unlikely and we will know who does if it happens.

and I personally believe it takes a particularly heinous person to kill their children or sit back and let others do it.......intruding into the very life of the unborn child is exceedingly worse than intruding in medical decisions......

I agree wholeheartedly however a child isn't a fucking child until it is born.

No, it won't. It will allow each state to decide for itself.

If only Anne Frank could have gotten an abortion, she wouldn't have died giving birth to Hitler's baby.
