The Ugly Truth

How about that? The SCOTUS supported our first amendment rights.

This is a very positive ruling Seven to Two.
It shows that we will not (!) stand for the control freaks that want to Fundamentally Change our culture. We are a nation under God, and will thwart these LGBTQ Idealogies.
Go America Go Trump.

Regardless of how you read it this is what we should do now. Whenever you want a cake baked or flower arrangements made or any other celebratory thing produced for your party...tell the employees that you need them for a gay...whatever. Their reaction should tell you whether you need to take your business elsewhere...if discrimination bothers you of course.

The justices did not issue a definitive ruling on the circumstances under which people can seek exemptions from anti-discrimination laws based on their religious views. The decision also did not address important claims raised in the case including whether baking a cake is a kind of expressive act protected by the Constitution's free speech guarantee.

they ruled in the one case, it didn't change case law

Kennedy also stressed the importance of gay rights while noting that litigation on similar issues is likely to continue in lower courts.

"Our society has come to the recognition that gay persons and gay couples cannot be treated as social outcasts or as inferior in dignity and worth," Kennedy wrote.

"The outcome of cases like this in other circumstances must await further elaboration in the courts, all in the context of recognizing that these disputes must be resolved with tolerance, without undue disrespect to sincere religious beliefs, and without subjecting gay persons to indignities when they seek goods and services in an open market," Kennedy added.

What a ridiculous thing to suggest....

What a ridiculous thing to suggest....

Why? Why would you want to give your business to people who don't want to serve your family, friends and people in general merely for being gay? Better if you know right from the start and adjust your plans accordingly.

However, ridiculous is basing your business decisions on discrimination against certain groups of people.

Nothing to do with Trump. There was bias by the Colorado authorities.

People have a right to their sincerely-held religious beliefs.

You wouldn't demand a rasher of bacon from a Muslim butcher, would you?

An even more ridiculous reply..

Here are some ?s

Should a Jew baker be forced to bake a Nazi Flag cake?

Should a Black baker be forced to bake a KKK cake?

The case is a narrow ruling and basically applicable to the case specific facts at hand alone.

They upheld the right for someone not to be forced to use their artistic talents for something that they have a moral objection to. It may be narrow, but they have set a precedent. That's a good thing.

there you go.

liberals can't see that far though.
To them it wasn't about the cake, it was about being able to say "they win".

And why would someone want someone to bake a cake for them that doesn't believe in principle what that cake meant to them. It's not like the only place that bakes cakes.

Should a racist gas station owner be forced to sale a black guy gas?

If the Black guy is demanding that he only be sold gas MEANT for Blacks, then yes.

Wanted to add that he didn't refuse to SELL them A CAKE; but instead he refused to DECORATE THEM A SPECIAL CAKE.

Are our current JPP resident liberals so blinded to facts that they will just continue to misrepresent the FACTS, all in an attempt to feel good or act like they have a win.

Has anyone ever looked at the cakes he made for special requests; because they were works of art and done by request.
ANYONE could walk into his shop and buy ANYTHING already on display.

This was not about BAKING A CAKE; but instead it was about MAKING A SPECIAL CAKE.

He also said he's refused decorating cakes for Halloween or that had witch decorations, among of one or two more situations.

Any intelligent adult, with even the smallest amount of common sense, would have just found someone that agreed to meet their desire.

Complete misunderstanding of the case. The argument was all about first amendment rights. However that was not part of the ruling. This ruling was only about the Colorado panel ruling and the Supremes saying it was hostile to the plaintiff, Phillips. They ruled that Phillips should get relief . It had nothing to do with the first amendment and nothing to do with gay rights. The court explained that clearly. It sets no precedence. It is simply Phillips and goes no further. So Ugly and wrong. That is why it was called narrow.

Situations like this arise because liberals are control freaks. They hate anything that gets in the way of their objectives. Those objectives are the total control of others. They will never be happy unless everyone thinks and acts like they do. Which is why they will always be a bunch of whiny liberal jackasses. Because that will never happen.
