Secretary of Treasury Scott Bessent said we have taken in $100 billion in Tariff revenue already.

"We could expect that could be well over $300 billion by the end of the year"

Trump has set a new August 1 deadline for higher "Reciprocal" tariff rates set to kick in on nearly all trading partners.
The big money will start coming in on August 1st.

Trump sent out letters to 23 countries about tariffs. That is not a tariff deal. Just a missive. That should tell even Libhater that there are not tariffs in place. Trump is talking about sending a lot more letters. Why? Because they do not have tariffs in place. It is amazing how misinformed Libhater is.

Hey jackass, the tariffs won't take place until Aug 1st. Sure some of the traders won't be in the bargaining mode, but many will, and
America will be financially better off because of the tariffs. Why are you lefties so against having these trading nations killing America
with these high tariffs? Could it be your TDS on steroids that make you such wimps?

How childishly insulting you are. The fact is tariffs are a tax on consumers. The IMPORTER pays the tariffs. Then he passes it on to the consumer, It will cause inflation and prices to go up. You are so ignorant.
And Trump lies about tariffs over and over. He said 90 in 90 days. Did not happen. He said he will impose them by sending a letter. Sorry, but a tariff deal requires both sides agreeing.
China is picking up our trading partners due to Trump's stupidity.
Trump, for a president, is stupid. For a poster, you are even dumber.

Those countries are all currently paying at least the baseline 10% tariff. These letters are informing them that, as of August 1st, they will be paying even more tariffs than they currently are.

You and other lefties like you are constantly getting your knickers in a twist over instantly reacting to every little detail immediately as it happens instead of realizing that a negotiation process is playing out in front of your eyes.

Maybe try being thankful that President Trump is the most transparent President EVER?

This is a corporate media LIE. Consumers do not get taxed, and retail prices that consumers pay do NOT increase as a result. Source: CPI data
The IMPORTER pays the tariffs. Then he passes it on to the consumer, It will cause inflation and prices to go up. You are so ignorant.
Nope, that's YOUR issue because you instantly swallow up corporate news LIES.
And Trump lies about tariffs over and over. He said 90 in 90 days. Did not happen. He said he will impose them by sending a letter. Sorry, but a tariff deal requires both sides agreeing.
Nope, it only requires the USA telling other countries what the tariff rate will be. Other countries can either continue to do business with us and pay the rate that we demand they pay or else they can take their business elsewhere. Unfortunately for them, the USA consumer market is the #1 "most highly demanded" market in the world to have access to, thus they will "jump through hoops" to get access to it rather than removing themselves from it.

No they aren't.

It's $100 Billion. Is that just a missive to you? You aren't making much sense.

That should tell even Libhater that there are not tariffs in place.
Are you saying that we really didn't pull in $100 Billion from tariffs? You aren't making much sense.

Trump is talking about sending a lot more letters. Why?
He's itching to use those expensive pens.

Because they do not have tariffs in place.
Are you saying that tariff money isn't coming in? You aren't making much sense.

It is amazing how misinformed Libhater is.
Libhater isn't the one misinformed about the sheer amount of tariff revenue.

Best response I've seen to these delusional pampered lefties.

Such a stooge

Tariffs are a tax on Americans.
No they aren't. Tariffs are NOT applied to the retail price. They are applied to the import price.
So many people have no idea what is going on.
... and you are one of them.

Take a look at some CPI data and see for yourself. Prices are NOT going up "due to tariffs" and prices didn't go up "due to tariffs" during Trump's first term either. History is now repeating itself, even to the point that "the experts" are repeating the very same "tax on consumers" (aka "tariffs will increase prices") lie that they peddled during Trump's first term.

Tariffs are applied to the Widget price at import (e.g. $5), NOT to the Widget price at retail (e.g $50). The retailer knows full well that the $50 they charge for the Widget is already at the optimal price for maximizing profits, and that charging any more for it will cause product demand (and sales, and profits) to decrease too much.

So no, retailers won't "pass it on". They will simply "eat it" because doing so will result in higher profits for them than if they keep pricing more and more people out.

Personal examples: I used to buy soda regularly when it only cost $2.50 or so for a 12 pack. Now that it costs $6.00+ for a 12 pack, I refuse to buy soda anymore. I also refuse to pay $5 for an itty bitty teeny weeny bag of chips when I used to buy two large bags of chips for $5. While I still purchase ice cream, ice cream is starting to get to that point too where I will simply refuse to pay the asking price for it. If it costs any more than $4 for 1.5 quarts, I absolutely will not buy it (as $4 is already ridiculous enough... I usually hold out for $3... the last few that I purchased were only $2.50). I also refuse to pay over $6/lb for hamburger (or whatever it's going for these days)... I've been purchasing it during special sales for $3/lb instead, as that's a much more reasonable price.
