Third World Labor can produce things at a great reduction in cost. American Labor is NOT going to work for a Dollar an Hour. Under Biden, American Labor is going to achieve $15/hr. Minimum Wage.
So ... the MOST EFFICIENT way to produce things, is by the use of Third World Labor.
OR ... the US can adopt a 'socialist' position and subsidize Important Industries, like Technology.
Making T-Shirts and wooden pencils wouldn't be on the List. 5G Technology and Artificial Intelligence WOULD be on the List.
I have NO PROBLEM with the US adopting 'National Champions' like other Countries have done. It's a form of Economic Nationalism.

It sounds bad, but pure Capitalism has proven to be a failure. Great for profits, terrible for the working class. If corps. have to be forced to spread the wealth, so be it. Share holders shouldn't be the only ones to make out. If a company can pay almost no taxes by manufacturing here, they might just see the light. If not, they can pay more in taxes.
Their choice.

Do you care where your shoestrings are made? How about umbrellas? Wheelbarrels?
Technology and Artificial Intelligence is the wave of the future. The West can subsidize this sector (like the Defense Industry) or we can cede the Future to China.

That means taxation to pay for it. I've often said that we should have a national oil company that doesn't rely on profits. I don't have a problem with the govt. creating jobs here, if corporations refuse.

If your angle is national security, then I think it's a good idea. Right now we manufacture everything in China, in the name of profits.
'Corporations' are the ones that build our Aircraft Carriers and Nuclear Submarines. The US 'subsidizes' them with unlimited funds. We need to do the same with our Technology sector, ... in my opinion.
'National Security'. That's exactly what it is. I support 'America First'. If you can understand why we 'subsidize' the Defense Sector', you can easily figure out that subsidizing the Tech Sector is the same thing.
China subsidizes their Tech Sector and doesn't hide the fact, why should we?
You really are ignorant. The list of American companies that moved to China is pages long. A tax break will not compensate for cheap unprotected labor and no environmental standards. Globalism is the present and the future.
