Tea Party members - This is NOT the way to win an argument

No, I've simply argued that in order to ensure they aren't the only message heard somebody must speak. You've told me that we should have just shut up and let the movement be hijacked by racist idiots. Your defense of this is idiocy and fuels the rampaging stupidity.

Im for making comments to the media to distance from it. But it's a minor concern. You seemed like you wanted protesters to focus on beating down fringies instead of staying on message.

Beating them down was your idea.:good4u:

Then we're for the same thing and you've posted ad homs with no purpose other than to look like you were defending idiots. Please link to where I said they should be "beat down"... I'll give you a hint: I never said it so you won't find it.

You created a stupid straw man about "beat downs" when you realized you were looking stupid and defending racists.

Nobody thinks silence is a defense, even though you keep saying it.

You seem to believe that protesters themselves should have done something right there and then, like a reverse affirmative action lynching.

No, you actively hoped I would shut up and keep quiet about these idiots because any other option was a "beat down".

You've actively defended stupidity.

I misunderstood nothing, I have changed my current mode and set it to "clarify stupidity from AssHat"...

No, silence is allowing them to be taken as those speaking for an entire group of people. Defending them is saying that we should actively be silent because the only other "option" according to AssHat is a "beat down" and we shouldn't do anything that might make it so that these people don't speak for others...

Oh come on! The media purposefully focuses in on the nutters and make it a story. They have actively ignored the message of the majority who participate in these events and latched onto anything negative.

I think what ahz was saying is don't bandwagon the false outrage as if it makes a pile of beans difference to do so...they, the media have all the story they want, they don't care if anyone disclaims the nutters.

Point in fact: do you remember that video I posted showing the interview with the TP rep? The liberal hack just talked over him when he was asked about the fringe nutters...why? 'cause they don't care about a voice of reason, only the small percentage of nutter voices.

Right. Which makes reaction more important. If we can show that the media purposefully ignores context we have a stronger hand...

Acknowledgement that it's not representative of the organization is a given...
Basically my point is:

The first, and only real, defense against slander is truth. If the media cuts off reaction to them and we can later show that reaction on other media (Youtube, blogs, etc ) they lose credibility while the TEA Party movement gains and has direct evidence of MSM collaboration. If people remain silent or, heaven forfend, cheer on such activity we lend credibility to the detractors. People shouldn't wait for the movement "leaders" to speak for them. Nobody needs a "beat down" but a reaction is something that shouldn't just be considered.

Cutting off reactions? you mean in video? SO the other protesters should form an illustrative circle of disdain around the "free speechers"? And point and hiss as if invaded by body snatchers? So this can be shown on youtube. got it.

Foolishness.

Anyway, now that we all have gone rounds on this...

Winterborn, what exactly made you say that these people were part of the TEA Party movement at all? This assumes that all protesters of this legislation were TEA Party participants and we all know that isn't the reality.

Again, you simply create a straw man because it is easier to defeat than logic. Immediate reaction is unnecessary, however somebody with a camera can interview participants who reject their racism and ideology, what is important is to bring reality to media for people to see. The man's race has nothing to do with opposition to fascism and deserves no space within the movement.

But it has to be immediate for it to be a reaction worthy of proving something on youtube. You would have to be in the same frame as the "nigger-sayer" to prove it was a real reaction. or you could be accused of camera tricks.

Think clearly damo. You're all over the map. maybe politics is a game that has passed you by.

Immediately turn the camera to people nearby, ask them what they think, put it on youtube.

Quit being deliberately obtuse, it's flat stupid to defend these people. First it actually supports the idea that they were even part of the movement to begin with, second it lends credibility towards the detractors. Quit helping them, it doesn't make it better to remain silent.

If we can show that the media cuts off reaction (doesn't even attempt to get the story because they believe that they have "damning" imagery) we can create a higher credibility than those reporting the idiocy as the norm.

Winterborn....

Do you have evidence that these people were TEA Party participants or are you just assuming?

Face it. We will never get a fair shake from the Liberal media. Never. Their chief intent and purpose is to make sure this administration wins at any cost and if it means tainting the pool of fair and objective reporting, well they sold themselves out long ago to that.

I want 33 million people to have health insurance, but I don't want it if it means the cost that will be passed on to my children and grandchildren that is reported in the trillions when it all shakes out. I find it infinitely oppressive that the Federal Government will be fining me almost $700 a year for not carrying health insurance if I choose not to do so.

I find it frightening and maddening.

Solitary believes it because he begs to be told what to think and believe by the LM. He's like a baby bird in the nest stretching his scrawny neck begging for the next worm.

We don't have to, most people do not trust the media for good reason. We can gain using that mistrust by getting the truth out and showing them to be complicit in creating a false image. There is a reason that so many media outlets and newspapers are going out of business, and it isn't because people trust them... There's a host of ways to get the truth out rather than sitting idly by cursing the MSM.

And I agree it is likely that Winterborn was simply a victim of misrepresented assumption. Unless he actually has evidence of them being TEA Party participants. I may have missed something.
