Top 50% pay 97% of all income tax.
Bottom 50% pay 3% of all income tax.
97%+3%= 100%

Many students over 18 from the above 50% families pay no taxes.
Many retirees pay very little income taxes.
Many spouses not working pay no taxes.
I posted a breakdown on here about a year ago. About 60 million if I remember correctly pay the vast bulk of income taxes.
