A teacher accused of stealing another teacher’s prescription drugs will likely avoid jail time, court records show.

Megan Jones, 28, was freed on her own recognizance a day after she was booked on a felony charge of theft of a controlled substance, according to the jail log.

Jones was arrested after a complaint was filed about Adderall pills that were stolen from another teacher’s purse.

The victim told police the prescription bottle contained three pills when she left it in her purse behind her desk. The bottle was empty when she returned around lunchtime.

Officials say a high school teacher was arrested on suspicion of "inappropriate communication with a student."

Tania Dickey-Driskill, 44, was charged with attempted statutory rape, stalking and attempted endangering the welfare of a child, according to online court records. Those are Class E felonies punishable by up to four years in prison.

Online records indicate Dickey-Driskill posted bond in this case.

According to court documents, Dickey-Driskill is accused of sending sexually suggestive messages to a 16-year-old student over the social media application TikTok.

The boy allegedly told State Highway Patrol troopers that he did not solicit these messages and he did not want to receive them.

When troopers interviewed Dickey-Driskill, court documents say she told them she had a very intense sexual attraction to the teen, but she denied ever trying to meet up with the teen for sex.

The school district released a statement Thursday saying it is fully cooperating with authorities and an employee, later identified as Dickey-Driskill, has been placed on administrative leave.
