A teacher accused of stealing another teacher’s prescription drugs will likely avoid jail time, court records show.

Megan Jones, 28, was freed on her own recognizance a day after she was booked on a felony charge of theft of a controlled substance, according to the jail log.

Jones was arrested after a complaint was filed about Adderall pills that were stolen from another teacher’s purse.

The victim told police the prescription bottle contained three pills when she left it in her purse behind her desk. The bottle was empty when she returned around lunchtime.

After reviewing surveillance video recorded in the hallway, investigators determined that Jones was the only person to enter the teacher’s classroom while it was unattended, according to her arrest report.

U.S. Attorney Bryan Schroder announced that Jayson Knox, a/k/a “Birdie,” 21, a teacher in Kivalina, Alaska, has been charged with attempted sexual exploitation of a child, transfer of obscene material to a minor, and attempted coercion and enticement of a minor. Knox is currently awaiting his initial court appearance.

According to court documents, Knox became the subject of a federal investigation earlier this month when state troopers contacted the FBI concerning allegations that Knox had engaged in inappropriate conduct with minors The complaint alleges that Knox used text messages and social media to communicate with 10 minors to send and request sexually explicit images. The complaint also alleges that Knox used text messages and social media to make attempts to set up meetings with some of the minors to engage in sexually explicit conduct.

A teacher who was arrested on Feb. 3 for the alleged sexual assault of a high school student in Jersey City, was arrested again on Friday in connection with a second assault.

On Friday, members of the Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit arrested Francisco Realpe, 43, of Hoboken, on a charge that he sexually assaulted a 17-year-old female student.

The new charge stems from an incident that allegedly occurred in 2004.

Realpe has been charged with sexual assault, a second-degree crime.

A teacher has been arrested for sexual assault and blackmail. According to court documents, he started a relationship with a female student after she went through something traumatic and began to confide in him.

Around Christmas, the relationship got physical, with Blankenship allegedly inappropriately touching the teen while in a locked classroom.

Investigators say at some point, an argument between the two led to the teacher allegedly threatening he would expose her traumatic event if she told anyone about the relationship.

A biology teacher at a high school has been arrested after it was found that she allegedly had a sexual relationship with one of the students in the school she was teaching at. 34-year-old Miranda Pauley has been officially charged with four felony counts of indecent liberties by a custodian.

Pauley is the latest in a string of incidents involving teachers across the country having indecent sexual relationships with underage students.

Pauley was also charged with one felony count of use of a communication system for crimes against children.

At least one of the incidents that involved her and the student took place on school grounds. The alleged relationship is said to have happened in November and December.

A teacher is under arrest after four of his ninth-grade students saw pornography on his phone, deputies say.

A Sheriff’s Office news release says the incident happened Wednesday afternoon in 47-year-old Vadi Velez-Gonzalez’s intensive reading class. The school district placed him on leave Friday.

The news release says a student went to the teacher’s desk to ask a question and saw a face-up iPhone with a website showing adult male pornography. Three other students saw it and reported it to school officials.

Velez-Gonzalez is charged with four counts of showing obscene material to a minor.
