Robert Todd Davis, 51, was sentenced to eight years deferred adjudication after his plea on one count of sexual abuse of a child younger than 14.

The 97th District Attorney’s Office confirmed Thursday morning that the Davis case was closed and he had accepted the plea offer, which includes registering as a sex offender for 10 years.

A jury trial was scheduled to begin Tuesday but Davis accepted the deal Monday before the trial started.

Davis turned himself in to the Archer County Jail in May 2016, after a warrant was issued for his arrest. His bail was set at $250,000 and he was released on bond the same day he turned himself in.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office said they began an investigation on Davis after an outcry from the victim. The investigation was turned over to the D.A.’s office in February 2016.

The incidents charged in the indictment against Davis happened between May 2009 and May 2013. The allegations included one act of sexual penetration and two acts of indecency with a child.

Davis was employed at Henrietta Junior High School as a science teacher but left the school in 2011.

He was also employed with Wichita Christian School as a high school Bible teacher and was one of their cross-country coaches. The school confirmed he was no longer employed there in 2016, according to a previous Times Record News article.

Davis was a pastor at the Henrietta Church of Christ prior to the warrant in 2016.

Pastor sentenced to 15 years for sexual abuse of teen girls

david-farren-1068x561.jpg

A Texarkana pastor was sentenced to 15 years in prison Tuesday morning for sexually abusing two teen girls who were members of youth ministry groups he led at several local churches.

David Wayne Farren, 42, appeared with Texarkana attorney Jason Horton for a plea and sentencing hearing before Miller County Circuit Judge Carlton Jones. Farren pleaded guilty to seven counts of first-degree sexual assault, one count of second-degree sexual abuse and a misdemeanor count of violating mandatory reporting requirements. Farren pleaded no-contest to one count of second-degree sexual assault as well.

As part of a plea bargain, Jones sentenced Farren to 15 years for each of the nine felony counts of sexual abuse, to run concurrently, and to four days in the county jail with credit for four days served on the misdemeanor. At the end of the hearing, Farren was led from the courtroom to the jail.

Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Connie Mitchell said Farren confessed to eight of the nine felonies during an interview with Texarkana, Ark., Police Dept. investigators last year. According to a probable cause affidavit, the victim listed in eight of the felony counts first met with TAPD detectives in July 2016 when she was 20. That victim told investigators she was motivated to come forward because she worried Farren was grooming another girl. At the time of his arrest, Farren was serving as lead pastor of Anchor Church in Texarkana.

The victim told investigators she first met Farren while in middle school at Trinity Christian School and while Farren was youth minister at Trinity Church and later youth minister at Heritage Baptist Church in Texarkana. The girl said she confided in Farren in 2013 that she had been sexually abused by someone else in her past. Members of the clergy, teachers and medical personnel are required by law to report allegations of child physical or sexual abuse to a national child abuse hotline, but Farren did not.

The girl said she was babysitting Farren’s children the first time he touched her sexually as she was lying on a couch under a blanket, and that he had intercourse with her on her 17th birthday in 2013. She said she and Farren had sex in his home in Texarkana, Ark., more than 20 times and that he would have sex with her in his garage if his wife was at home. She said Farren claimed he did not divorce his wife because it would be a sin. The victim reported that the abuse stopped in August 2013. The victim mentioned that when Farren began taking an intense interest in her, another girl with whom he had been “close” had left for college.

The other girl was interviewed by TAPD detectives in August 2016 after Farren’s first arrest. She told detectives Farren began touching her sexually after her father died when she was about 15 and Farren was her youth minister at Faith Baptist Church in Texarkana. The second victim to be interviewed by police is named in one of the second-degree sexual assault counts. She said she cut off contact with Farren after he made a phone call to her while she was in her college dorm room. The girl said Farren’s sexual conversation with her led her to “realize how he had control over her.”

Farren will be required to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison and will be required to pay a fee for the registration as well as a fee for having his DNA included in state and national databases.

Former Centerton Christian School Teacher Pleads Guilty To Sexual Assault

richard-riley.jpg

CENTERTON (KFSM) — A former teacher at Life Way Christian School in Centerton pleaded guilty Thursday (Jan. 26) to sexually assaulting a student.

Richard Thomas Riley, 35, pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree sexual assault and two counts of possession of child pornography, according to Benton County Prosecutor Nathan Smith. He was sentenced to 24 years in prison.

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office Cyber Crimes Division began investigating sexually explicit messages and nude photos that were exchanged between Riley and 16-year-old student in early 2016.

The teen was interviewed by investigators and told them she sent nude photos to Riley and had sexual intercourse with him on several occasions at his home, according to investigators. The teen said the sexual intercourse was consensual and the two were in an exclusive relationship.

Following interviews with authorities, Riley admitted he had sent the teen nude photos and had had sexual intercourse with the student on multiple occasions, according to the sheriff’s office.

While the age of consent in Arkansas is 16, Riley was in a position of authority over the student since he had been a teacher.

Christian school teacher, coach gets jail for sex abuse

635949564194233508-mansell.jpg

Donald Mansell, a former Christian school teacher and athletics coach, will serve 30 days in jail after pleading guilty to two counts of third-degree sexual abuse and two counts of harassment. The misdemeanor convictions stem from incidents where Mansell, 37, inappropriately touched two teenage female students between 2010 and 2013.

Mansell, who worked at Livingston Adventist Academy and who is also the son-in-law of Marion County Judge Vance Day, was sentenced to five years of probation to begin after his release from jail. He'll also have to register as a sex offender.

The sentencing conditions allow Mansell to have his probation ended two years early if he fully complies with its terms, court documents show. He can also have the convictions erased from his record in time.

The attorneys representing the two victims were not happy with Mansell's sentence.

Ron Sayer, an attorney representing Mansell's victims, said the sentence is the "worse miscarriage of justice that occurs in our system."

"This is a tragedy. It's horrible," he said. "I don't think it's a good thing for our society when a teacher can do that kind of thing and get a light sentence."

Attorney Chris Best said, "Mr. Mansell's actions were felonious, and should have been charged as such. ... And I am confident any 12 members of our community (in a jury) will afford my clients the justice they deserve."

Mansell's attorney, Jeff Jones, said in a statement that he believes the case was "fair and consistent with similarly situated defendants in this county."

Jones said he fought to make sure Mansell did not receive special treatment because of his relationship to Day.

"It has always been my goal that Mr. Mansell be treated no differently than any other first-time defendant facing similar allegations in this county," Jones said.

Spencer Gwartney, a Lane County prosecutor appointed to the case because of Mansell's relationship to Day, said he is satisfied with the outcome.

"I didn’t feel it would be appropriate if there was no jail time," said Gwartney, who added that most convictions for misdemeanor sex abuse don't come with jail time. He said it wasn't possible to charge Mansell with a felony and that a trial would have been lengthy and complicated.

Mansell was charged after an 18-year-old female student at the private Christian school accused him of touching her inappropriately when she was 16.

Another female student came forward and made similar allegations against Mansell, which resulted in more charges, records show.

Mansell no longer works at the school, and he was never licensed to teach by the state of Oregon, records show. His sentencing stipulates that he must stay away from children and places where they gather, like schools or athletic events.

A retired judge was appointed to oversee the case because of Mansell's relationship to Day, who has sat on the Marion County bench since 2011. Oregon's judicial ethics commission this year recommended that Day be removed from his judgeship for ethics violations. That case is pending before the Oregon Supreme Court, which has power over judicial discipline.

A warrant was issued for Mansell's arrest in November 2015, but he was never taken into custody. Instead, Mansell was allowed to turn himself in four months later. A sheriff's office spokesman said the situation amounted to a mix-up; deputies failed to follow up with the prosecutor and didn't know a warrant had been issued.

Despite Mansell's guilty pleas, other legal action related to his crimes remains unresolved.

A civil suit seeking $5.25 million in damages was filed in May against the Seventh Day Adventist Church on behalf of one of Mansell's victims. The suit alleges that Livingston Adventist Academy administrators knew of the abuse but did not act. It also argues that officials within the church, which owns and operates the rural Marion County school, had a duty to protect the victim from abuse.

Robin Davidson, former assistant headmaster at Ripon Cathedral Choir School, jailed for abusing two pupils18th October

6972482

A FORMER assistant headmaster at a prestigious choir school has been jailed for sexually abusing two young pupils more than 40 years ago.

Robin Davidson, aged 81, from Worcester, abused the boys during a 12-month period in the mid-1970s when he crept into their dormitory or summoned them to his study for extra ‘rehearsals’ at Ripon Cathedral Choir School in North Yorkshire.

Davidson, of Packhorse Close, St John's, was a committed Christian who was head of music and choir master at the prestigious boarding school, was described as a “brilliant” teacher who hid a “dark secret” and was feared for his strict discipline and ferocious temper, York Crown Court heard.

Prosecutor Glen Parsons said Davidson’s offences came to light when one of the boys told his mother about the abuse, claiming the choir head had “had his way with a number of boys”, said prosecutor Glen Parsons.

She made a complaint to the head and demanded that Davidson be sacked. Davidson was duly dismissed in 1974 after immediately owning up to the sexual abuse.

But other parents wrote angry letters to the mother attacking her for getting the teacher sacked, said Mr Parsons.

“They said he was a brilliant man and shouldn’t have been sacked,” added the barrister.

Davidson was dismissed and never worked as a teacher again, but the then headmaster did not inform police about the sexual abuse. It wasn’t until almost 40 years later that Davidson was finally arrested for the crimes, when one of the victims, now middle-aged, came forward to police in 2013.

Davidson was arrested in April this year and charged with four counts of indecent assault against the pre-teen boys.

Mr Parsons said that Davidson was responsible for “lights out” in the dormitories, a position he used to inveigle himself with one of the victims and sexually assault him.

Mr Parsons said the abuse had had a traumatic effect on the victims who were still suffering emotionally more than 40 years after Davidson abused them.

He said the victims still had admiration for Davidson as “one of the best and most-respected teachers” at the school who had helped them carve out distinguished careers of their own.

Defence barrister Taryn Turner said that Davidson, who studied theology at Oxford University, returned to live with his parents in Cornwall immediately after his sacking and never worked in the teaching profession again. He subsequently forged a career in the book trade.

She said that at the time of his sacking 43 years ago, the then headmaster “for whatever reason… dealt with it in a way that frankly would not be considered appropriate (today)”.

She added: “This defendant was in the main respected as a talented, dedicated and inspirational teacher for many of (his former) pupils, but he was deeply flawed.”

Teacher jailed after having sex with student at a cemetery; her husband also busted for same crime

teacher23n-4-web.jpg

A former Christian school teacher in Alabama pleaded guilty to having sex with two students — including once at a cemetery — and was sentenced to three years in prison Monday.

And in an unbelievable twist, her husband, a basketball coach at the same school, was later arrested for having sex with a former student.

The wife, Charli Parker, 31, had sex with a student at least 11 times between October 2014 and March 2016 at her Pickensville home, Graham Cemetery and another location in Reform, according to documents cited by AL.com.

She was given a 12-year sentence but will have to serve three years following five years’ probation after pleading guilty. Parker was also ordered to follow the state’s sex offender laws and not have contact with the students.

Husband, wife had sex with students, including at cemetery
Parker, who taught physical education at Pickens Academy in Carrollton, was arrested in March and indicted on 13 charges for having sex with an underage student.

The student’s name was redacted from court documents. Authorities have said that Parker’s victim was male.

The couple was fired from Pickens Academy following the allegations.

Her husband, James Parker, was arrested later after being accused of having sex with a female student. He was the boys’ basketball coach and taught math at the academy.

The school eventually fired the couple.

Former Mount Paran teacher pleads guilty to sex with student, gets 10 years

58db0d7c7131a.image.jpg

A former teacher at Mount Paran Christian School pleaded guilty on Tuesday to charges stemming from having a sexual relationship with a female student who was 17 years old and was sentenced to 10 years in prison, according to the Cobb District Attorney’s office.

Although the age of consent in Georgia is 16, teachers and other school employees with supervisory or disciplinary authority who engage in sexual contact with any student at the same school are guilty of felony sexual assault of a student, according to Kim Isaza, spokesperson for the Cobb DA’s office. Consent is not a defense against the charge.

Christopher Wade Brown, 37, pleaded guilty to sexual assault of a student on Tuesday. According to the indictment against him, Brown had relations with the student in July at a home in Marietta. An arrest warrant was issued in mid-October, and Brown turned himself in two days after the warrant was issued.

Brown was fired from Mount Paran in early October, according to the warrant. He had taught high school physics, chemistry and computer science at the school for one year.

According to Isaza, Brown attempted to start a relationship with another minor after the Mount Paran student ended their relationship, leading to similar charges against him in Fulton County. Brown pleaded guilty to charges of child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes in Fulton County last week and received a sentence of 15 years with 10 years to serve in prison.

“This case is about a man who used his position of trust and authority to manipulate and exploit for his own selfish sexual desires,” said Assistant DA David Williamson, who prosecuted the case. “This sentence sends a strong message that the citizens of Cobb County will not tolerate teachers who take advantage of students entrusted to their care.”

Cobb Superior Court Judge Lark Ingram sentenced Brown to 20 years with 10 years to serve in prison and the remainder on probation, Isaza said. After his release, he will have to register as a sex offender, will be barred from having contact with any minors and must have any future employment approved by probation authorities.

Lunch lady accused of having sex with teen in kitchen of Christian school

170908-lunch-lady-child-abuse-feature.jpg

A cafeteria worker at a private school in Florida allegedly sent sexts to a teen before meeting him in the kitchen for sex acts, authorities say.

Aimee Chevalier, a 40-year-old cafeteria worker at Hernando Christian Academy, exchanged roughly 100 risqué text messages with the male student, including nude photos and videos, before the pair agreed to meet up in the school’s kitchen, where they took part in multiple sex acts, according to an arrest affidavit from the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office obtained by the Tampa Bay Times.

Chevalier, who admitted to the trysts during an interview with investigators, said she knew the boy’s age and that the illicit meetings were wrong. In addition to providing detailed descriptions of their encounters, Chevalier told investigators that she planned to have sex with the teenager during an open house party at one of his friends’ houses while his parents were out, according to the affidavit.

Chevalier, of Brooksville, was arrested Aug. 8 on charges of unlawful sexual activity with a minor and transmission of harmful materials to a minor, jail records show. She remains held at the Hernando County Detention Center on $12,000 bail.

A message seeking comment from school officials was not immediately returned early Friday. Chevalier’s arrest comes less than three months after the school’s former principal, Cathy McAllister, left the school after her husband, Bruce McAllister, was charged with 32 counts for assaulting three teen foreign exchange students who were under his supervision.

McAllister, a volunteer at the school, told the teens he had a background in sports medicine and promised to coach them to become American football phenoms, according to the State Attorney’s Office.

The school’s attorney declined to comment when reached by the Tampa Bay Times, citing the “ongoing nature” of both investigations.

“HCA is committed to helping ensure a proper resolution in these matters and doing so in line with the strong values that have shaped the school since its founding in 1981,” attorney Matt Foreman said in a statement.

Meanwhile, prosecutors have promised that both Chevalier and McAllister will face the “full extent of the law,” Assistant State Attorney Erin Daly told the Tampa Bay Times.

“When these things happen in schools, it is very unfortunate,” Daly said. “We will do everything we can to go forward in making sure these actions are reprimanded.”

Ex-CBA teacher, deacon jailed in child sex case

636404808980061424-Prioli.jpg

FREEHOLD - A girl’s first kiss should be a special memory, a young woman told a judge on Friday.

"Mine will not be treasured," she said.

That’s because it came, when she was a minor, from a man who was decades older than she, who was supposed to protect her.

"He invaded my privacy, my bed, my body," the young woman told Superior Court Judge Vincent N. Falcetano.

The man "taught me to be silent and tolerate the abuse," she said.

The person the young woman was referring to was Joseph Prioli, someone who not only had a close, personal relationship to her, but who also held positions of trust in the larger community. He was a teacher at Christian Brothers Academy in Middletown for 15 years, until 2015, and a deacon at his church.

Now, Prioli, 49, of Howell will spend the next five years at the state Corrections Department’s Adult Diagnostic and Treatment Center in the Avenel section of Woodbridge, and the remainder of his life on parole and the state’s Megan’s Law registry, under a sentence imposed Friday by Falcetano for child endangerment involving sexual conduct

As a result, Prioli, a father of eight, will be prohibited for the rest of his life from living in a household with minor children, said Thomas Fichter, an assistant Monmouth County prosecutor.

The woman he admitted molesting on multiple occasions between 2004 and 2012, from age 10 through 17, was poised as she spoke to the judge in court.

The Asbury Park Press chose not to identify her because she is a victim of sexual abuse.

She said she came forward to protect Prioli’s children.

Prioli, a teacher and one-time technology director at Christian Brothers Academy, was arrested in December, about a year after he left the school for other employment, Brother Frank Byrne, president of the academy, told the Asbury Park Press at the time. Byrne said then that there had been no reports of any criminal wrongdoing by Prioli while at the school.

Prioli pleaded guilty on Feb. 27 to two counts of child endangerment involving sexual conduct.

Before he was sentenced, Prioli expressed remorse to the judge. "My regret is deep and true," he said. "I am, in fact, horrified by my own actions."

His defense attorney, Sarah Surgent of the Public Defender’s Office, said she submitted a number of letters to the court about Prioli. Some, including one from Prioli’s wife, were in support of him, while others, including two from his sisters, condemned him.

Christian Art Teacher, Jessie Goline, Had Sex With 4 Male Students Less Than a Year After Wedding

Jessie Goline, 25, and her husband Stephen, 26, in happier times

Jessie Goline, a Christian art teacher who publicly praised her husband for his purity and faith, could be sentenced to 10- to 40-years or life in prison after police say she had sex with four male students at her home in Jonesboro, Arkansas, over several months.

Goline, 25, who taught at Marked Tree High School before she was fired for her crime, was arrested and charged with first-degree sexual assault on Wednesday, according to KAIT8. Police say she had sex with four students from two separate school districts between January 2016 and April 2016.

An affidavit cited by KAIT8 said Goline initiated contact with the students by sending them text messages "which became more and more sexual in nature."

One of the students said he was in Jonesboro visiting a friend when Goline texted him her address and asked him to come to her home. He said he was dropped off by a friend and he had sex with Goline. On another occasion, the student said Goline drove him from Marked Tree to her apartment in Jonesboro and they had sex twice. He alleges that another student was also at her apartment that same night.

The student told investigators that Goline wanted them both to stay with her until the next morning but he convinced her to take them back to Marked Tree earlier.

Goline is reported to have sent another student sexually explicit text messages, including a photo of her. He said in the affidavit that Goline "texted him that she would like to have sex with him but he was too young."

Prosecuting attorney Scott Ellington told The Washington Post that Goline was discovered after one of the boys was overheard bragging about the trysts.

"Boys brag," Ellington told the publication.

Goline would later confess after news broke at that school that a parent intended to cause "bodily harm" to a teacher who was sexually involved with multiple students.

She went to the principal at Marked Tree High School crying, reportedly saying, "I'm not going to lose my husband," before making her confession.

It is unclear where Goline's husband was when the incidents took place.
Studies Suggest There Is No Long-Term Harm on Minors Who Have Sex With Adults; Christian Sociologist Responds

Stephen Goline, 26, also a recent University of Arkansas graduate, is a coach at Nettleton High School, according to his Twitter page. The couple who are apparent Lutherans, have been in a relationship since Aug. 17, 2013. They got engaged in July 2014 at a Lutheran church.

About six months after Jessie Goline's last alleged tryst with her students, she thanked God for her husband on Facebook and praised his purity.

"It's Stephen's birthday! He's the sunshine in my life. He's the purest, most content, faithful, and caring person I know. Thanks be to God for giving him to me as a husband. You'll always be my best friend, babe, Happy 26th," she wrote on Nov. 4, 2016, with a smiley face and kissing emoji.

She also wrote in another Facebook post how much she enjoyed Bible study noting: "Bible study with these two is always lovely, especially when we get to sit outside, eat delicious food and wonder why James 2:24 is worded that way. #Lutheran I'm thankful for you both!"

James 2:24 says: "Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only."

Jessie Goline was booked into the Craighead County Detention Center at 1:50 p.m. on Wednesday on a $5,000 cash/surety bond awaiting an Oct. 31 appearance in circuit court according to KAIT8. She was released from custody at 3:04 p.m.
