The Covid vaccine does not have a live virus in it. The mRNA vaccine does not even have a dead virus in it. There is no infection going on.

A vaccine does create an immune reaction, which does cost the body a little bit. It is nothing compared to how much an actual infection costs the body. I would not get vaccinated for Smallpox, because that is not a likely infection, but Covid and influenza are very likely infections, so getting vaccinated against them made a lot of sense.

Smallpox is one virus. Covid is a class of viruses There are dozens of variants. There is no vaccine any of them. Influenza is a class of viruses. There are thousands of variants. There is no vaccine for all of them or even most of them, Wally.

As for your anecdote, those two probably had co-morbidities.

Here's some anecdotal information for you; I had the Covid shot and still got infected with covid. It was like a bad flu. The shots did NOTHING to prevent the spread as advertised.
