Understood about involuntary since it violates Constitutional rights without a rigorous system. Too many rich husbands committing their wives. LOL

Part of the problem is a lack of public education to remove the stigma of mental illness. It's one reason why the suicide rate in the military is higher than the national average; the stigma of mental illness is that the person is weak. If they had cancer, then others are sympathetic. If they are depressed or suffering from PTSD, they're thought of as wimps. Ergo, they don't seek help.

It's a common idyllic fantasy of the Left that the world can somehow return to a sort of medieval fairytale romance novel where everyone lives on a peaceful farm--but never has to do all that hard work of farming...
