Lots of murder cases don't gather the attention of the Martin case. What's the point of that particular insight, Yurt?

just stating a fact. the guy was released the next day after shooting at people....and don't you find it odd this story never had the attention that martin's did?

Not at all - not even one bit. The Martin case blew up for a few reasons; among them, audio that was captivating for news audiences, and a FL law that opened up speculation as to whether or not this kind of killing was actually allowed.

In Yurtworld, everything is apples to apples. For most of the rest of us, things are more complex than that.

did i say it was the same? of course not. once again onceler dishonestly misrepresents what someone said. i gave specific reasons why i thought it odd this case did not also gain the attention. i never said they were the same. both cases have their own notriety...yet...only this one gained such national attention.

but of course, you can't see why. the attention of the martin case has little to do with the FL law. what were comments by jackson and others about? the FL law?

get your head out of ass.

LOL - what whining.

The FL law was huge in this - "shoot first, ask questions later" - as was the audio, which was as captivating (and incriminating) as anything the news outlets have had in quite awhile. It's funny that you ignored the audio in your response; it was after the audio was played on national news that this story blew up.

You're just trying to find equivalency where none exists - again.

so it is whining to counter your bullshit. i notice you completely ignored the comments by jackson etc...that was the main focus of this case and still is.

you're too much of a sissy to have someone counter your bullshit, you cry "whining"....

And you continue to ignore the comments about the audio, which, btw, are true. That is when the story blew up, period.

i've ignored the comments? LOL. i've talked about them ad nauseum....you want to ignore the main focus of the case when it first hit the national spotlight...you want to ignore your fellow libbies saying why this happened....

you're just a left wing hack that pretends race isn't an issue when it has been made a HUGE issue...

Yeah - you have definitely ignored my comments. I'm not saying that race is NOT an issue, but the case blew up w/ the audio - people got the sense in a very visceral way what it is like to be stalked & killed, where yes, some very clear profiling was going on.

You have weird ideas about race, as you have shown over & over again, and you see a lot of equivalency on that topic where none really exists. In general, white victims get much more media attention in this country, and that is fairly indisputable....

"White Hispanic." That's how The New York Times, Reuters and other media outlets have opted to describe George Zimmerman, a man who would simply be Hispanic if he hadn't shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. The term, rarely if ever used before this tragedy, is necessary in telling the Martin story in a more comfortable way.

The New Black Panther Party has put a $10,000 bounty on Zimmerman's head. "He should be fearful for his life," leader Mikhail Muhammad said. "You can't keep killing black children."

Trayvon Martin case: 'Blacks are under attack,' says Jesse Jackson

Jackson said the Martin case is getting plenty of media attention overseas, attention that is both embarrassing to white America and humiliating to black America.

http://www.latimes.com/news/nation/...n-case-jesse-jackson-20120323,0,2131299.story

"It's a precedent that with the right excuse it's OK to gun down black males," protester Ashten Fizer said of Martin's killing. "It's a return of Jim Crow."

and just look at christiefan's post about this....

Yurt can't read. Where have I stated that race has no impact on this case?

you spent the first few posts countering the race issue. you spent all this time talking about how the other issues were HUGE...completely down playing the race angle. then when you get pwned with the evidence, you back peddle and claim...well...yeah...race is part of it.

but if you were honest, you would admit the biggest issue driving this is race.

Please. I haven't said anything contradictory, or changed my position. You're just desperately seeking your coveted "gotcha" moment.

The case blew up when the audio went national. Period.

yeah...and why did it go national onceler....RACE. people claimed they heard the word "coon" and that is when the story went viral. the bulk of the stories, protests, complaints and comments are about race. that is a fact. you can pretend that isn't so all you want, but your willful ignorance doesn't change reality.

you're truly a die hard apologist for your party.

What does party even have to do w/ it?

All you just did was prove what you were denying yesterday - this case is now political for you.

That was easy.
