Truth is opioid abuse is in small towns across America. This is a result of over-prescribing by doctors for many years. Doctors may not have known the degree of addiction they entailed. They trusted drug companies who sent representatives across the nation to convince doctors it was safe to prescribe them in large amounts. Doctors do not do the research and trust those who do. Once doctors quit giving them out, those who were addicted and reliant on them moved to illegal drugs . So we have a heroine and crack epidemic in cities and towns across the country. This is a mess that lies in the lap of big PHARM.
We have to have treatment centers, lots of them. That wil not solve it, but can do some good.
