Tens of Thousands of Jobs VANISHED Today... What now?

dixie....you have not proven the layoffs are related to the election. you have not proven the premise of your OP.

Funny how all the sudden, all these places up and decide to lay people off. Do you think it is coincidence? Boeing's laying off workers in its defense sector doesn't have a thing to do with Obama screaming "defense cuts and tax the rich" the past 6 months? The layoffs don't have a thing to do with the chance of repealing Obamacare dead now? I guess you can think whatever you want, Yurt. I know what I believe, and I think you'll see even more of this in the months to come.

We're about to experience something that will make the Great Depression seem like good times. Better ammo up, is all I can say.

yeah...two days after the election :palm:

these things are planned in advance dixie. if you want to claim your statement is an assumption, fine. but it certainly lacks any evidence.

The numbers are still rolling in, companies large, medium and small, reporting lay-offs and reductions in workforce, following the results of Tuesday's election. Elections do have consequences, and it appears this election will be no different. The consequences seem to be massive lay-offs and downsizing, at a time when 15% of the workforce is either unemployed or under-employed. The situation is going to become gravely worse in the next few months, as inflation begins to tick up and UE benefits run out. Does the president have any kind of plan for this? Are Democrats working feverishly on what should be done? Or, are we just going to sit back and watch things get worse and keep blaming Republicans?

I'm just fucking curious as to what's the plan here?

I can't speak to the Democrat plan but as far as you're concerned I suggest you transfer some of those deutsche marks from your multi-million dollar Germany account  (sorry) just in case.

Yep, all those places just decided to lay off employees one day. No planning. No previous discussions. One dude in each company went to bed Tuesday night, they all had a alien abduction, then announced the layoffs the next day.

Do you ever take the time to look over what you post and the conclusions you draw? You're losing it, Dix. We expected you'd take the election results badly but speaking for myself I never realized how serious the effect would be.

Talk to someone, Dix. Get professional help.

It's okay Yurt, the Liberals have proven the Boeing story was just a made up lie from FauxNews and didn't really happen, and the assorted stories I've heard today locally, they didn't really happen either, it's all lies from the right trying to scare people. According to Dude, we've added 50,000 new jobs... no, 70,000... no wait, 150,000 new jobs since Obama won the election, and it's only getting better, according to Jughead. So don't worry about it man! Just roll up a fat one and wait for the money to pour in and Utopia will be here before we know it!

Come on Dixie if you have anything to support your op please let us see it, if not admit you are lying.

So what is your point, Dix? Assuming for the sake of argument you're correct do you propose we make sure some people remain uninsured so they can't afford medical treatments? Do we start another war/invasion to help boost defence spending? Where are you going with your argument besides over a cliff?

No doubt they planned in advance, and so did a lot of other places, apparently. IF Obama wins, we lay off... IF Romney wins, we hold off!

Hey Obamacare hung in the balance here, and everyone knew this going in. The 2012 elections solidify this monstrosity into law for good, and businesses will start feeling the effects right away. So expect to have a rash of mass lay-offs now that they know. Also expect that new jobs are going to be virtually non-existent, much to the extent they already have been. The results of this election will have major ramifications, and if you don't want to interrupt your victory party to recognize this, I understand. It's a harsh reality we're going to have to face now, and maybe after the holidays you'll be more willing to accept reality?

Yurt, I don't need to wait and see. I am a former business owner, I know what is about to happen. You and I are about to see things we never thought we'd see in our lifetime, and they won't be "good" things.

We all know Obama care was not going to be repealed even if Romney had won.

Oh we're going to get to see your plan in action, Apple! We're going to have complete nationalized health care for every American, and we're going to see how an economy collapses when it can't pay the bill. We're going to see the wonders of government-medical when there are no doctors or medical professionals and fewer hospitals or providers of services. It's all going to unfold for us over the next 4 years, and we can all sit and watch the jobs leave and society start to crumble in despair.

Defense spending? Not that we'll have any money for that now, but who needs it? Obama has pretty much conceded to radical Muslims now, so I expect we'll start seeing the implementation of Sharia in parts of the country before 2016. It's probably a good thing too, because you'll need something to have faith in. I'll particularly enjoy watching the women be put back in their place by the Muslims, all those who voted against the "War on Women" are going to be in for a bit of a rude awakening. Look at how many fewer abortions are happening in the Muslim world? Of course, the stoning deaths are up a bit, but that's to be expected, right?

Exactly! The fate of Obamacare was sealed with Roberts.

I don't believe there is a business owner in the entire country that did not know that. Some of the states may have asked for and gotten waivers but I seriously doubt California (location of most of Boeing's layoffs) was going to be amongst them. Ditzy is just spinning hoping for what, I don't know.

This is the best. All week, righties have held it together - Hannity, Coulter, even Dick Morris. It hasn't been fun at all.

Thank you, Dixie.

"You and I are about to see things we never thought we'd see in our lifetime, and they won't be "good" things."

As far as Republicans are concerned, you're right. They won't be "good" things, at all! People getting medical attention. Fewer troops having their arms and legs blown off. Death and destruction being delayed/denied. What a terrible, boring world. Right, Dix? After all your years of scraping and scratching, hoarding your hard earned dollars, now people are going to get medical attention just like you! The nerve. The gall. The utter injustice of it all! Who do those people think they are?

The harsh reality is what YOU have to face. We've told you, over and over, Obamacare is here to stay. The "pay or die" system is being lowered into the ground to be forever buried. The war business is slowing down. Obama made clear to war-mongering Mitzie the number of ships will decrease. (I hope Bravo can handle that.)

It's over, Dix. A new reality. A new paradigm. A new matrix. Call it what you will. People like you were asking what "Hope and Change" occurred over the last four years. Well, you're seeing it. As you correctly noted this election did solidify ObamaCare. The "Overton window" has shifted and it has not just shifted regarding health care. You are about to see things you never thought you'd see in your lifetime but you were told this many times over the last few years. But you didn't listen, Dix. :(

It's never too late to get on the Obama wagon, for lack of a better term. Actually, it's the evolution wagon. Your friends and family and countrymen are evolving, Dix. The election is proof of that. Throw off your Republican chains and join in. It's a great place to be. :)

Doomed, obamas promised revenge is coming , he will destroy those who gave done the right thing!

Look to the UK.
That's the USA in 2 years!

It's over.

The American dream is over.

Those Palin, death panel folks really got to you, huh? Did you ever look at the statistics I posted concerning nationalized health care in other countries? It saves money, Dix. Over 30%. (I deliberately avoided the 1/3 reference.) People in those countries experience equal or greater life expectancy. The best part is the citizens in those countries like their respective medical plans. What more can one ask?

As for defence spending what does that have to do with Sharia law here? As for abortions the people have spoken, as well.

You're in shock, Dix, and it's understandable. Change is difficult and some folks have a greater problem with it but it's OK, Dixie. The world is not coming to a literal end. The old ways are changing, that's all and it's all for the good. You'll see. :)
