Or Morsi, who promises Sharia ( although his speech did say he'd respect international agreeements( Israel).
IMHO Morsi's election is a reaction to the dictatorship of Mubarak -this is what happend when ppl have enough suppression, and aren't going to take it any longer.
The key is whether the military will subserviate to civiilan rule. I don't think so, though Morsi and the Brotherhood want that. we'll have to see.

I don't know Tom, 90% of the country is Muslim so "impose" may not be the right word. It could be more along the lines of whether Morsi will be moderate or an ayatollah.

It has been read and found wanting. At least with a religion there is cultural and moral influence from the people, the military is just a bunch of people with guns. How is the military in power suppose to be a good thing. There are very specific reasons why the US military is under civilian control. For various reasons look in almost any nations histories. A number of big ones stand out though, Ceaser, Napolean, Mao. No matter what "good intentions" the military council has, it's still Mubarak with a face lift.

You want to know how to keep him from going super anti american? Don't do normal american practices with Islamic countries. Try to get along, and don't pressure them to kowtow to Israel.
