Also, I am far from the typical driver. Over a 10 year period I averaged 4,500 miles per month on my truck. For a 2 year period I averaged 6k miles a months. The bulk of those miles were interstate, but I also spent plenty of time on backroads, dirt/gravel roads, and driving in utility easements.

Did I call a car that has a 100 mile range and takes hours to charge a rich man's toy? Obviously.

Do I think the Tesla's 300 mile range and 30 min half charge makes a difference? Yes. Perhaps this is what I was talking about when I called it "exciting" and "astounding".


But with each post you simply prove that you are uninterested in the actual topic. You are doing your best to annoy individuals. Which fits the definition of a troll.

Model S can recover 62 miles range per hour of charge.

Tesla offers three batteries, denoted by the kilowatt hours (kWh) of energy they store: 40 kWh, 60 kWh, and 85 kWh.

Travelling 55 mph, the kWh figures can be translated to the stated range capabilities of 160, 230, and 300 miles, respectively.

Range fluctuates based on vehicle speed, driving style, and road conditions.

Holding these factors constant, using higher consumption accessories like climate control will reduce range approximately five to ten percent.
