Tesla owner breaks window to escape fire barely survives

In August, 22% of new vehicle sales in China, the largest car market in the world, were fully electric (30% had a plug).

That’s August 2022, not August 2035. China, notably, modeled its EV policies in large part on California’s. (A few years ago, I talked with a Chinese-American professor at a California university who was a top advisor to the Chinese government on this.)

In the same month, August 2022, 13% of new vehicle sales in Europe were fully electric (21% had a plug). The UK is up to 17% of new vehicle sales being fully electric (22% having a plug). Norway is up to 77.7% of new vehicle sales being fully electric (89.1% having a plug).

Looking globally, 11% of new vehicle sales are fully electric vehicles sales, and 15% have a plug. In August 2022.

There have been several hundred fires confirmed from Tesla cars, as many as 300 estimated so far. That’s incredible in itself.
Allegedly the Ford Pinto had a tiny fraction of that number yet caused international outrage

More to the point, there are now 32 recorded fatalities from Tesla fires. How many, if not all, of those were preventable?

And why do these fires keep happening without detailed investigations, explanations or recalls?

Pintos got canceled because they caught fires in wrecks. Not much difference.

I'm not sure if you are smart enough to understand . First of all burning up in any car wreck really sucks even if you are in a Tesla. The Pintos caught fire in wrecks and they were canceled as unsafe . So there are fewer Teslas and more Tesla fires than Pinto fires.

Last month, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said it had received reports of 38 fires, with 27 fatalities and 24 non-fatal burns, resulting from rear-end collisions with Pintos. No similar reports had been received on Bobcats, but Ford told the government agency that the Mercury line's fuel system is identical to the Pintos.

This idiot said that there was no comparison between the pinto and Tesla , he claimed 32 died in Tesla and I showed how their death was counted in any fire with the tesla including running at a high rate of speed into a Tree and catching fire. NOw lets look at the pinto \

EV equals an overgrown golf cart with limited range and usefulness. For example I'm driving to East Texas next week to see my mom and do some bass fishing next week. I couldn't tow my boat that far without one or two charges and then I'd need to recharge in Milam Texas (small town no charging station) on a home circuit which takes days. Too big of a pain in the ass. You can't hardly tell my boat is behind my F250 and I can run 85+ mph all day long in perfect comfort. And if god forbid I got in a wreck almost anything I would hit with my F250 would lose with a Tesla not so much.

Electric cars are a good choice for cities. Not so good for hauling Boy Toys across the nation.
