Tests show bootleg marijuana vapes tainted with hydrogen cyanide

Seeking answers, NBC News commissioned one of the nation's leading cannabis testing facilities to test a sampling of THC cartridges — 18 in all — obtained from legal dispensaries and unlicensed dealers.

The findings were deeply troubling.

Of the three purchased from legal dispensaries in California, the CannaSafe testing company found no heavy metals, pesticides or residual solvents like Vitamin E.

But 13 out of the other 15 samples from black market THC cartridges were found to contain Vitamin E.

CannaSafe also tested 10 of the unregulated cartridges for pesticides. All 10 tested positive.

The products all contained myclobutanil, a fungicide that can transform into hydrogen cyanide when burned.

Some state health officials have indicated that Vitamin E acetate, a solvent used to "cut" cannabis for use in vape pens, may be responsible for the outbreak.

And the people who use the legal vape are at risk of being banned from buying the vape they have been safely using for 10 years

Most all the recent illnesses and deaths have now all shown lung x-rays with evidence of "oil" coating the lungs, basically
suffocating the victims.
Shows all the evidence I spoke about weeks ago. THC with vitamin E oil (diacetyl), also the crap you mentioned...pure poison.
Lot of those parents and family members finally realize their kids were vaping both regular old non-harmful regulated ejuice
PLUS THC with oil in their tanks and carts.
This is what happens when mostly kids buy their "juice" on the street from a slug selling this stuff out of the trunk of
his car. (One kid actually came clean and said that)
I saw there have major raids in MN lately on men with thousands of the poisonous carts in their trunks.
Big tobacco and Big Pharma have blood on their hands trying to force people back to smoking.

Remove the safe ejuices for vaping...........keep selling cigs.
They say only kids like flavors? OK. How about banning all the flavored vodkas?

Wow, that's basic industrial hygiene. I learned about that 40 years ago in OSHA class. High hazard environments requiring supplied air need an oil-less supply.

Nope. NC has the ABC system and those county-run stores can only sell alcoholic beverages above a certain proof- no beer, wine, or anything competing with legal private business. The moonshine isle is typically next to the locally produced and small batch bourbons.
