Texas has highest wind gen energy

I find little of redeeming value in President Bush's tenure. However I can fairly say that Bush seems to have been a fairly good governor. He couldn't have rose to run for President if he had been a terrible one.

What do you mean he is A Bush.
Both He and John did what before becoming governors ?

he's had a great energy policy.
Not many are sophisticated enought to understand it:clink:

Well being in the oil industry I can see how you would feel that way :D

Also how can we judge his energy policy if he and shooter won't share it with us ?

Started by Bush in 1996:clink:

I'd start by referring you to google, to research that actual powers of the Texas governorship.

Texas Governors have virtually no power. They mostly make appointments to boards and commisions, and ride around in parades. It's reputed to be constitutionally, the weakest governorship in the nation. A figurehead almost.

The Texas State constitution disperses almost all the budgetary and legislative powers among other independent state wide elected officials. Who may or may not even be in the same political party as the Governor. In fact, the Lieutentant Governor has more power than the governor in the legislative and budgetary process.

So I would challege you that Bush had really anything to do with this.

You do know the history behind this, don't you? There was a governor back in the day that sold Pardons and Commutations, and abused the office in horrific ways. They therefore changed the constitution so that the Governor had almost no authority at all. They can barely sign legislation. I believe that even a three-person panel has to approve vetoes in that state.

I didn't know that.

My understanding was the Texans were so outraged by the way nothern-appointed republican governors acted during reconstruction and ran roughshod over them, that after reconstruction they wrote a state constitution that severly limited the governor's power.

Darn, no wonder Republicans do so well as governors in Texas :)

Lame ass pot shot Cypress, what a fucking party hack.
Having the most wind added energy of any state is a dam good thing.
Bush was the head honcho in charge and actually out flanked Gore in 2000 with a few big green initiatives when gore was asking people to volunteer to reduce.

Head honcho in charge ?
Does not sound like it is very much in charge to me.

Not a basher in honest enough or has enough integrity to count the amount of wind energy, solar panel, and hybrids pre and post Bush.
Facts are the facts class, if you guys were paying attention you could have gotten rich.
