Wendy Davis Confirms Time Change on Texas Vote Count Deliberate – Expects an Investigation

You might recall the efforts by Texas Republicans to falsify the vote count on the controversial abortion bill earlier this week.

Of particular note are the following two screenshots taken from the Texas Legislature Online site. At 12:54 a.m. Wednesday morning the site showed SB-5 as having been passed on “6-26-13″ or after the legislative deadline of midnight:

At the time, the Statesman.com out of Austin, Texas, reports that Senator Wendy Davis (D-Fort Worth) told a crowd outside the Senate door that she did not believe that the vote was proper and predicted a court challenge. Davis told reporters that her effort to filibuster the bill was worth it even if the results were ambiguous at best and went on to note that “Constitutionally, we are not to take votes or have any other action after midnight.”

Eventually Republicans conceded that the vote was too late, but questions still linger regarding the time changes online. That is until last night when Senator Davis confirmed during an interview with Anderson Cooper that the change in the online record was deliberate with the intention to deceive. Davis also noted that she expected that action to result in an investigation.

Where oh where are the shrieks of "coverup"?

How come there hasn't been a word said about this "scandal"?

Because it involves Righties?

the same thing could be said about the voice vote count on the hughes amendment by charlie rangel. I haven't seen any of you libs rant about that yet though.

You want to discuss that, you are more than welcome to go create your own thread.

This thread is dedicated to what Texas REPUBLICANS tried to do earlier this week.

Well you are comparing something happening on a state level to the President of the United States. I think the President is generally going to draw more attention. You are also comparing something that is a few hours old vs. events that have taken place over months and years.

And I think you can answer your own question. How come raw story does not (or very rarely) point out misdeeds by liberals? How come you don't post misdeeds by any 'hateful tightie lefties'? It's the same reason people on the right don't. It's called partisanship. It's called the "i'll point out when your side does something wrong but don't point out when my side something wrong" attitude.

do you see the government using nuclear weapons on the US citizenry?

It would seem to me that, using your logic, one surefire way to ensure they didn't or wouldn't would be to allow them in the hands of that citizenry.... isn't that right? I mean, if the government did start nuking its citizens, that would be a heck of a time to START laying your hands on some.

What is ICECREAM man Zappa talking about?

His hero Kermit Gosnell is unsure, is Zappa still his man?

in other words, you don't want to discuss the unethical crap that democrats do because you want them to do that. you just want to bitch about the evil republicans.

Well.... We could just have one thread where everyone got to discuss everything, but I personally think threads work best if their topics are a bit more narrow in scope. Wouldn't you agree, STY?

So if a thread is started about one party's actions no one should bring up the other party's actions? Yeah, good luck with that.

Bring up anything you want... Heck... If the thread is about Texas republicans, why not talk about the Red Sox pitching staff, or the last episode of Game of Thrones? Of course threads always digress, and when they do, the people who started them and hoped they would be and stay about the original subject are allowed to be a bit disconcerted when they begin to stray. wouldn't you agree?

having said that, what are your thoughts on Jon Lester's hip injury he sustained in last night's game against the Blow Jays? Do you think he will be able to pitch his next scheduled start like he said in the post game press conference, or is he being overly optimistic?
