Texas teen wins right to have baby after suing parents

Except where she's 16 and really it's the parents who are going to raise the kid. The teen is just going to be providing the kid an entrance.

Um maybe they should have raised her to reserve sex for marriage, the girl is making her own choice, I thought liberals were all about choice you double minded fool.

The freedom to make the choice is pointless without the freedom to live with the consequences of the choice. Th consequences in this case will likely be the teen being hopelessly dependent on her parents or reduced to a state of living that is best described as poor. And the kid is going to grow up in this.

More a hypothesis based on the fact that the 16 year old is dependent upon the parents for means of support, the return of car and the bill paying mentioned in the article point to her not having a job, and regardless of how "mature", a word that traditionally means "shares my own beliefs", she is, the parents are still going to be funding the kid which is a hefty amount of money, even if the economy wasn't crap.

Maybe the other parents will help fund the kid... you know, the parents whose SON contributed 50% to the kid.

In most of history the sixteen year old girl would be married to a 22+ year old man who normally would already have a job and the parents would send a payment to help him keep her.

If she's willing to sue to keep the kid, a decision that I would give odds she'll regret in a hurry that seems more aimed as a "you're not the boss of me" plan, the parents should say fine and toss her out now.

And if they toss her the FATHER and his family should step up and take her in.

Maybe they should have raised HIM to reserve sex for marriage. I'm sure you don't have a double standard, right?

It takes two to be stupid, yes, she's as culpable as he is though, and she appears to be the one bound and determined to see this through. I'm sure you don't have a double standard right?

I never said she wasn't. If you actually read the thread, you'd see I was responding to everyone who put this all on the girl.

first off, 16 years old is perfectly acceptable to bear children. read history.

second, why do you support the parents being able to FORCE an abortion?

i do not care about historical childbirth, if you follow history when it comes to childbirth, most women were killed by childbirth usually along with the baby

i did not say that a 16 year old cannot have a baby, just that 17/18 to 25 is the best range for mother and child

also, where did i say that the parents should force an abortion on a minor female that is pregnant

Then the parents should have been parents, and taught her to abstain from sex, now they will either pay the consequences for their poor parenting, or the Child will.

So, everytime a 16 year old gets knocked up, its the parents fault?

It boggles my mind how you completely disregard the father in all your posts. The BOY should have been taught to abstain from sex also. Why is this so hard for you guys to understand?

It's not hard, I agree with you, didn't see where he was mentioned though, thanks for reminding me!
