No one who won as a dem and remains a dem in the senate will caucus with the Repubs. That being said, I KNOW Damo remembers Ben Nighthorse Campbell. I am wondering how many back room deals are being brokered right now with Bluedogs to switch parties. Would not be the first time it has happened.don't underestimate the possibility that some blue dogs would prefer to caucus with the Republicans........

I'm not Witchypoo got her as KICKED in Delaware, Angle made it a race. Dems need to look around at the seats lost in the Senate. Russ Feingold is gone! How bad does your party have to be perceived to lose Russ Feingold? Bad day at blackrock for the Dems. Now lets sit around and watch very little get done for the next 2 years.
Had they won in Nevada or Delaware or even Alaska a deal to move a Democrat into the Republican collum would be likely, but I doubt they can get enough to make a difference. Plus, the Republicans likely dont want the Senate.... Too much power, with an inability to produce makes one accountable.

Dems should hear the message loud and clear. Obama worked on a lot of agenda items that he campaigned on over his first two years. Unfortunately it was percieved that he wasn't focusing as much as he should have on cleaning up the Bush economic crash/recession. The administration needs to clearly make the next two years almost solely about creating jobs and they know it. The problem for Repubs now, is they can no longer play "The Boni" to Obama's "Ceaser". They actually have to govern now instead of obstruct and if they continue to obstruct from the house and the economy continues to stagnate, the'll pay the price for that.I'm not Witchypoo got her as KICKED in Delaware, Angle made it a race. The history for Senators who switch parties after an election is not good and is a strong deterent for them to make such a switch. The main reason being, they lose their senority and their new party ussually shuffles them the least significant committees and they usually pay a pretty hard price in the next election cycles. Unless the administration or Senate leaders go out of it's way to harsly punish dissenting Democrats, as Bush did with Jeffords, then it's probably not going to happen. The incentives just aren't there.don't underestimate the possibility that some blue dogs would prefer to caucus with the Republicans........

My mind is still shaking in disbelief. I mean I can understand why people would be unhappy with the rate of progress on the economy but why the hell would you vote for the people who got us into this mess in the first place? It's beyond stupid.

As it stands the Republicans would need to switch four Democrats to flip the senate. It may have been feasible if the Democrats had 51 seats, but they retained a bit more than expected.

the voter turnout has shown that the people are not as stupid as the democrats thought they would be. They see the writing on the wall and how the economy is going to get worse because of the last 4 years of spending policies. They want that changed. The people have realized that, just like FDR policy extended the depression, that the last 4 years are going to extend this recession. The turnover in the house is a way to lessen that to some degree.
Face it career pols, if we the people have to sacrifice to survive, so now will you.
