thank you angle and o'donnel

Nevada has the highest foreclosure rate, highest bankruptcy rate, and highest unemployment rate and Harry Reid still won. It really shouldn't have been a contest.
And it wouldn't have been had they run somebody other than Angle. She says crazy shit and scares moderate independents and republicans. Had they run a sound conservative that didn't say things like raped women should stay pregnant with their rapists child, they would have defeated Reid. (note: the statement attributed to Angle is not intended to say that the abortion issue is what killed her, only that her rhetoric was so bad that it gave people who would otherwise have voted Republican pause.)

obviously, most voters don't share your conclusions about "who got us into this mess in the first place".......

Because the proles are braindead zombies who blame whoevers in power without making any rational attempt at assigning reasonable causation. The person in power is often essentially blamed for natural disasters and other acts of God, unless they can assign it to some other enemy. People are desperate to find someone to blame, especially when there's no one to blame. People are idiots.

the people didn't vote for the same people that 'got us in to this mess'. in case you didn't notice, alot of incumbents lost their jobs last night. new blood is in the pool. we the people expect a new direction for the country now and it's up to Obama to go along with the new direction or lose badly in 2012.

A lot of incumbents lost in 2008 and 2006. 2010 will have even less of an effect because all Republicans are the same.

How the hell is spending going to make the economy worse? Notice how many times you've taken out a loan and it's reduced the amount of stuff you have? Never?

Taking on a loan hurts you in the future, not immediately. You're just an idiot.

when you move out of your mothers basement and have to support your own family, you'll find out. now go get a job.

I agree! And I would also like to join DQ and thank Angle and O'Donnell here! I think the TEA Party movement gained some valuable lessons in this cycle. You know, we all say we want citizen-politicians instead of the polished career-type politicos we've been accustomed to, but therein lies the rub, citizens who aren't accustomed to being poised and polished campaigners, often have baggage or say stupid shit, because they are novices. The TEA Party generated an enormous number of first-time office seekers, and there were certainly some disappointments. But this is how the process works, this is how movements evolve. The TEA Party will take away some valuable lessons from this campaign season, and next round will be much more refined and focused. That's what should scare the bejesus out of Democrats.

I honestly think, many on the left, (and even some on the right), think the energy of the TEA Party will drop off, and this was all just a flash in the pan type thing. But I believe most in the TEA Party understand completely, this was just the first big battle, and there is still a LOT of work left to do. This was just a start. The monumental gain they made in this election cycle, was notoriety and respect as a viable political entity. That can no longer be disputed or ignored. They can't be discounted and dismissed as a bunch of extremist kooks who don't really have any political clout. No doubt, some on the left may still mistakenly view them as a branch-off wing of the Republican party, because they are still thinking of them in terms of a "party" and not a movement. TEA Party people are individuals, conservatives, republicans, libertarians, and even some democrats, committed to smaller limited government and responsibility in Washington. They're not going away!

Teabaggers are just exaggerated Republicans.

Not all of them Don. But never fear, they won't caucus with the Republicans....though they will vote with them at times.

the only problem angle and o'donnel had was telling the truth

Fantastic....you hit a home run.
"braindead zombies who blame whoevers in power without making any rational attempt at assigning reasonable causation"

Exactly....
Exactly why pinheads are still blaming Bush for the economic meltdown and ignore the FACT that the entire congress was run by the Democrats...and their committees were having an effect

Exactly why pinheads ignore the FACT that Bush warned the Barry Frank gang that Freddie and Fannie were headed for deep shit....bills passed during the Clinton years were just having their effects felt...

Exactly why the pinheads ignore the FACT that even with the country on the verge of bankruptcy, the messiah wants to take on millions of peoples healthcare bills and push us into socialism.

Exactly why the pinheads don't get outraged when their messiah spends 200,000,000 dollars a day for an unnecessary trip for nothing more than R&R....

Exactly why "braindead zombies (pinheads) will blame whoever their TV set tells them to believe.....

I'm not Witchypoo got her as KICKED in Delaware, Angle made it a race. Dems need to look around at the seats lost in the Senate. Russ Feingold is gone! How bad does your party have to be perceived to lose Russ Feingold? Bad day at blackrock for the Dems. Now lets sit around and watch very little get done for the next 2 years.

Actually, doing nothing may be a good thing for the Democrats.

As health care policies start to come on line and consumers see that credit card companies have been reeled in regarding interest rates citizens will start to benefit.

The Repubs have a choice to work with the Dems on job creation but the big initiatives are going to unfold regardless. That's probably why Obama wanted those policies pushed through. He knew he wouldn't have a chance if he waited.

Now the people will see if the Repubs will work with the Dems on job creation. The "philosophical" or social issues (health care, financial regulations) have been settled, more or less.

Not much can be done on the job creation front with the Republicans holding the house. Just like in Britian mid-crisis elections are going to cause the government to pursue a schizophrenic course of action.

Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure Act of 2009.
Is this Obama's cure all ?

Credit card interest rates are through the roof

The average interest rate on existing cards jumped to 14.7% last quarter, up from 13.1% a year earlier, Synovate said. Synovate is the market research arm of Aegis Group plc.

The jump created a dramatic spread of 11.45 percentage points between the average credit card interest rate and the prime rate -- the largest margin in 22 years, according to Synovate.

Synovate study director Lauren Guenveur said the increase in interest rates was driven primarily by the Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure Act of 2009. She said the so-called CARD Act gave credit card companies a limited amount of time to raise rates, "before they could no longer do so freely." This put pressure on issuers to aggressively raise rates, she said.

The historic rates are quite interesting...

December 2001 17.9 with rates from 11.9
August 2001 18.9
September 2000 19.4
May 1999 19.9
March 1999 20.9
January 1999 21.4
July 1997 22.9
April 1996 22.3
January 1996 22.6
March 1995 22.9
December 1993 21.9
January 1993 22.9
November 1992 24.9
October 1992 28.5
September 1992 27.8
June 1992 28.5
May 1992 24.6
October 1990 24.6
June 1990 24.6
May 1990 29.8

Reeling in those credit card rates are gonna get the Dems. a lot of votes.:palm:
