I agree that carbon credits & ethanol are kind of a sham...but your solution is more coal burning, nuke plants, more drilling in America & new refineries?

That's hopelessly stupid...

New oil supplies will come on line whether the US is involved or not. The question is.... who is going to do a better job at protecting the environment when drilling these new sites and bringing them on-line? You may like to beat up on the US and shout that you are protecting the environment, but all you are doing is promoting greater dependency on foreign oil.

This is not to say that we shouldn't continue to pump as much into alt energy investing as we can, but we need solutions NOW. But please, continue increasing risk of disaster by transporting our oil across the oceans....
