Thanksgiving 2025

Fairly usual stuffing...with some giblets and chestnuts to give it a bit of taste.

The Boys have got their hands full with Mahomes and his gang coming to your town. Gonna be a good game. My mind is on the Ohio State - Michigan college game on Saturday, though. That should be a barn burner.
Down here we are strictly cornbread dressing. Funny story my niece brought her German boyfriend last year. He didn't get any cornbread dressing so I convinced him to sample it. He liked it so much that he ate three servings. The recipe we use is my great grandmother's recipe that my wife adds cranberries to.

The Ohio State and Michigan game should be a very good game.

The Butterball turkey is thawed, the potatoes are sliced and under water to prevent turning brown, the green beans are snapped, the cake and pies are made, the celery and green onions are chopped, So I have done my part till tomorrow.

Tomorrow I roast the Butterball turkey and slice the Greenberg. And I will mash the potatoes with my secret ingredient. (way more butter than I should use). But hey everyone loves my mashed potatoes

All this preparation for 30 minutes of eating. But hey its Thanks Giving and my family is coming

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE.!

Just a heads up if you have never heard about them Greenbreg Smoke turkeys are the best I have ever had. Even Oprah Winfrey said it was the best smoked turkey she has ever eaten. You can order them online. https://www.gobblegobble.com/
Spatchcock a turkey, put spice infused butter between the skin and flesh, rub it into the flesh well, then smoke it on a pellet smoker. It takes less time to cook and therefore does not dry it out, makes the skin crispy and tasty.

My family tells me it is delicious...

That is how I smoke them. I do mix spices and butter and inject them to ensure flavorful most meat.Greenbergs are better IMHU and a hell of a lot easier but they are a little pricey. . But when I get free turkeys with a purchase of food I take them and smoke them. And I de-bone vacuum pack and freeze them. I pull them out for sandwiches and fast meals as needed. My holiday Greenberg don't survive past a day ore two beyond the holiday. Plus they are too expensive to eat year around.
