Tal sings and composes too. She wouldn't be playing with Jeff Beck if she wasn't one of the best.
Do you like Imogen Heap? She's as unique as Jeff Beck is.That's true.
Tokyo funk
I'm trying to keep with the bass theme. That was great! But where was the guitar and the other saxophone?!
I'm trying to keep with the bass theme.
I've seen them with twin bass but not with twin sax. They were in the song but not the room. That was keyboard, guitar, bass, drums, and 2 saxophones.
Stanley Clarke on tenor bass
East River Drive is one of my all-time favorites. Too commercial for most people but he deserves to have success after all the years he gave us.Holy Crap! I forgot to put him on the list! His "School Days" album was the serious joint for my senior high school days. Classic!
John Paul Jones didn't mind being in the background. When I saw Zeppelin the only thing I remember about Jones is his organ playing. When I saw Stanley Clarke there may have been seating for 75 max. Both experiences are burned in my memory but the intimacy of Clarke stands out.Jazz guys get all the love of course as they get to show off more.
But John Paul Jones was the perfect foil for Pagey and was a very big part of why Zep was so different.
And he had Jack Bruce to thank for that concept.

In the background.I might describe JPJ as filling the canvas in the spaces between guitar vocals and drums. keys stand out by their nature.
