Trump would let the people suffer until his term ended. He does not care about others, as his ignoring the guy who collapsed in the White House showed. He is gleeful when people lose jobs. With him leading the party, the people would have suffered as he played golf and the Republicans stayed in line. Trump uses shutdowns as a weapon. The grim reality of an egocentric idiot in office changes politics. Trump did not care about people losing jobs, the airlines suffering, or any others suffering from the Trump shutdown. The Dems had to face it that Trump will gut health insurance for the masses, and he will go play golf. But they do not have the power to protect the people from him.

That is not what the Dems were doing. Trump lied as usual. If you do not know better than that, I feel sorry for you.
 
1. Democrats were fighting to save health care affordability for millions of Americans.

2. Republicans succeeded in holding them off.

3. Health care will remain unaffordable.

If you think that is a win for the GOP you need a lesson in politics.
