The CPI Inflation Rate A Sizzling 9.1% In June; Dow Jones Tumbles

well we only have Publix and Walmart - about $2.79 for boneless thighs.

If you cut them up for a stir fry ( or smother them in a sauce) i cant taste any real difference
over white meat

I've always preferred dark meat.

I've been finding good deals on fresh frozen tuna. Walmart had it on sale for 7.49 lb., recently. I eat it sushi style.

It's reg. 16+ at the Giant and 20 at the Asian Mart.

It's a sale price, albeit every week at one of the stores, but I'm getting chicken breast at that price and whole chickens as well.

I can't believe that with a little driving, Floridians cannot find a market that offers these sales just to get people into the store. For me it's 30 miles, which isn't worth it unless I schedule other things in the area.

Which I always do. Otherwise, the local sales still have chicken at $1.49/lb on a regular basis.

Yeah, sale price, too, at the Giant near me. I often just get the wings at the hot food bar, now that it's reopened after being closed because of the Chinese bioweapon attack.

I know exactly what's going on in the world. trump's tariffs created higher prices and supply chain issues before the trump virus ravaged the world.

The general concensus in this thread is that inflation is Biden's fault.

You don't seem to understand tariffs at all. China pissed in trump's coffee, and he loved it.

How are American workers and manufacturers supposed to compete with cheap Chinese labor? ... and their lack of environmental laws?

Tariffs were a genius move.

In Maryland, we have 300 million chickens and 6 million people. so we typically have good chicken prices. This Summer I saw chicken legs at .99 per lb. for the first time since the Chinese launched the bioweapon attack.
600 million chicken legs for 6 million people is good odds.

14 states are issuing stimulus rebates to citizens to alleviate the effect of inflation, and not all of them are Democratic governors. Some Republicans governors are doing it to.

It's unfortunate your governor is leaving you to twist in the wind and not offering you any relief.

Stimulus rebates will do nothing to alleviate the pain voters are feeling at the gas pump and grocery store. It also won't restore the massive losses on their 401Ks which retirees depend on.

You really are an uneducated dolt aren't you? But hey, you're the perfect constituent for the party of lies and Marxist ideas.
:palm:

You should write to the RNC and tell them the Republican campaign platform should include a pledge to sit back and do nothing to alleviate the effects of inflation on citizens.

Sitting back and doing nothing would have benefited this country far greater than the bullshit that is being spread by this President.

I am always amused by the argument that making citizens dependent wards of the state is a great thing. Dumb.

Well, The Board of Governance of most Corporation's Stocks can't get out of their own way sometimes, as they are the ones that demand price increases and larger profit margins- THAT IS THE NUMBER ONE CAUSE OF INFLATION.

So, when Corporations complain about their Stock losing value, and while blaming it on inflation, FUCK THEM- as they contribute to and cause their own problems most of the time!

Cry me a river!

We call this the Free Enterprise system- Price meets the demand!

Of course greed comes into play!

Raising prices can be risky to the welfare of your own company- as it should be.

You can raise prices to a point at which the consuming public will stop buying your product- AND YOUR STOCK- just as they should!

Not all laws are written by men- Some laws are by nature!

When it comes to stupid, you are the definition. :palm:

The market is now existing without the billions that the Fed pumped into it during the trump virus.

CEOs are taking profits from inflated share prices. As are many who saw share prices artificially skyrocket.

More evidence of what a lying, uneducated, delusional mentally unstable moron you are. :palm:

And calculating as was done in Jimmy Carter's day, the more real inflation is...

I N F L A T I O N - FLASH (July 13): June 2022 Annual headline CPI Inflation jumped to 41-year high of 9.1%, up from 8.6% in May, while the June 2022 Annual ShadowStats Alternate “Corrected” CPI Inflation jumped to a new 75-Year high of 17.3%, from 16.8% in May, on top of resurgent energy prices.

There are quite a few farmers that disagree. Especially the ones that committed suicide when the soybean market disappeared.
Tariffs immediately created supply chain issues, and price hikes on quite a few items. It trump understood tariffs, he would have taken the billions that Americans paid in higher prices, and funded retooling in American factories for competition.

I find it odd that you believe offshoring labor is genius, especially when the entire nation realizes the folly now.

If prices are going to be higher, we might as well create manufacturing jobs here. The supply chain is going to be backlogged until we do.

Proof?

Farmers have always had one of the highest suicide rates.

The tariffs set the stage for America to compete against cheap Chinese labor and lack of environmental laws, in order to create manufacturing jobs here.

Retooling? ... that's a joke.

Offshoring labor? ... that's what Democrat socialist unions caused.

.
Set the stage? Can you expand upon that? What has been done to move past the 'set the stage' phase?

Within months of trump's trade wars, the wait for appliances was months. Prices increased 3 or 4 times in 6 months.

To this day, the supply chain issues are due in large part to a shortage of Chinese made parts for a number of products that are made here.

Yes, btw. Retooling.

Shame you don't understand tariffs.
