BUT, they had a literacy program!

Flashback:

Sanders called Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega, "an impressive guy," and said that while Fidel Castro wasn't "perfect," Americans shouldn't forget that "just because Ronald Reagan dislikes these people, doesn't mean that people in their own nations feel the same way."

Upon his return from Nicaragua, Sanders said that he was "impressed" with the "intelligence and sincerity" of Sandinista leaders, arguing that they were not the "political hacks" some had portrayed them to be.

"In 1959 [...] everybody was totally convinced that Castro was the worst guy in the world and all of the Cuban people were going to rise up in rebellion against Fidel Castro," said Sanders. "They forgot that he educated their kids, gave their kids healthcare, totally transformed the society."

And free health care. :rofl2:

The Left has always had a deep psychological need to believe in the myth of Cuban health care. On that island, as everywhere else, Communism has turned out to be a disaster: economic, physical, and moral. Not only have persecution, torture, and murder been routine, there is nothing material to show for it. The Leninist rationalization was, “You have to break some eggs to make an omelet.” Orwell memorably replied, “Where’s the omelet?” There is never an omelet. …there is excellent health care on Cuba — just not for ordinary Cubans. …there is not just one system, or even two: There are three.

The first is for foreigners who come to Cuba specifically for medical care. This is known as “medical tourism.” The tourists pay in hard currency… The second health-care system is for Cuban elites — the Party, the military, official artists and writers, and so on. In the Soviet Union, these people were called the “nomenklatura.” And their system, like the one for medical tourists, is top-notch. Then there is the real Cuban system, the one that ordinary people must use — and it is wretched. Testimony and documentation on the subject are vast. Hospitals and clinics are crumbling. Conditions are so unsanitary, patients may be better off at home, whatever home is. If they do have to go to the hospital, they must bring their own bedsheets, soap, towels, food, light bulbs — even toilet paper. And basic medications are scarce. …The equipment that doctors have to work with is either antiquated or nonexistent. Doctors have been known to reuse latex gloves — there is no choice. …So deplorable is the state of health care in Cuba that old-fashioned diseases are back with a vengeance. These include tuberculosis, leprosy, and typhoid fever. And dengue, another fever, is a particular menace.

The DEMOCRAT front-runner (like many DEMOCRATS) loves Latin American dictators

As part of the rollout of his second run for the Democratic presidential nomination, Bernie Sanders spoke with Univision’s Jorge Ramos. After asking Sanders about his domestic platform, Ramos used the last couple of minutes to inquire about Socialist Venezuela. “Do you consider Juan Guaidó the legitimate president of Venezuela?” he asked. It’s a relevant question, not only because Venezuela’s catastrophe seems to worsen every day and will likely become a complex diplomatic challenge in the months ahead for the United States.

Sanders declined to endorse Guaidó.

Ramos dug further. “Is Nicolás Maduro a dictator?” he asked. Sanders declined to portray Maduro as an authoritarian leader (despite ample evidence to the contrary).

This isn’t the first time Sanders has chosen to tiptoe around Latin America’s despotic leftist regimes. In the 1980s, Sanders traveled to Nicaragua. Upon his return, he repeatedly defended the Sandinistas and their leader, Daniel Ortega.

Sanders’ enthusiasm for both Ortega and the Castro regime in Cuba came back to haunt him during the 2016 presidential campaign. Three years ago, during a primary debate against Hillary Clinton hosted by Univision and the Washington Post, Sanders was shown a video in which he enthusiastically described how Fidel Castro had “totally transformed” Cuban society, providing education and health care. A few days after the debate, Sanders appeared on CNN. When Anderson Cooper asked Sanders if Castro’s revolution had indeed benefited the Cuban people, Sanders tried to dismiss the question. When Cooper tried to get a straight answer, Sanders promptly accused him of “redbaiting” and repeated his praise of the Castro government.

It is entirely possible, of course, that the DEMOCRAT electorate will not care about Sanders’ history of ambivalence toward Latin America’s repressive socialist regimes. Capitalism has become increasingly unpopular among young DEMOCRAT voters, a majority of whom now express a positive opinion of socialism. Meat puppet Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a DEMOCRAT Socialist herself, worked on Sanders’ 2016 campaign and sees the Vermont senator as an inspiration and a mentor.

Indeed. I've noticed that none of JPP's Commie-lovers (Brad, for instance) have emigrated to Castro's paradise when they needed health care.

In fact, estimates say that as much as 20% of Cuba's total population has fled to the USA. Don't they know how shitty our literacy rates and healthcare are supposed to be?

☭ Bernie to address his comrades in Utah

Bernie Sanders, who is considered the frontrunner in the DEMOCRAT presidential race, will be in Salt Lake City the day before Super Tuesday, when Utah will hold its primary election.

Sanders's Utah appearance comes following primary election wins in New Hampshire and Nevada. Sanders and "Butt-fucker" Buttigieg essentially tied in the Iowa primary for the delegate race, but Sanders won the popular vote.

Join me in voting for Bernie in as many primaries as you can, then. It's vital that we make sure that Comrade Sanders is the DEMOCRAT facing the president in November.

Since DEMOCRATS think voter ID is "racist", it's easy to do, and there's zero risk. If anybody questions you, just start screaming "voter suppression", and they'll back off.

DEMOCRATS are desperate to shut Sanders up, because he's too honest

Establishment DEMOCRATS had two chances to halt Bernie Sanders’ march toward the nomination after his triumph in Nevada: Tuesday night’s debate and the South Carolina primary on Saturday.

Now, they’re down to the South Carolina primary.

They all seemed desperate and more manic during their final prime-time chance to make the case against Sanders before a majority of delegates are chosen, starting on Saturday and then on Super Tuesday.

By the end, it was clear there was no Bernie slayer at the lecterns in Charleston.

They failed because there's really no difference between their platform positions an those touted by the avowed Socialist.

Beeping Commie

When are you people going to comprehend that outside the Fox bubble none of this means anything, America isn't burdened with Cold War cliches

If we learned anything in this Century it is that anyone can be elected President, no one would imagine a Black President or a fat dirty old man ever getting elected, Americans aren't ideologues, they vote image, the individual, not tags attached by demogogues or political rivals
