I have postulated that what we are watching in France is the elite throwing Sarkozy to the wolves who are pissed that the French Elite as a class have for so long done a crap job of managing France...that someone needed to be sacrificed.....the peasants want blood.... and Sarkozy was handy.

I wonder if that sort of thing is what is happening here.
