The difference between philosophy and religion.

I oppose fundamentalist religion and bible thumping

I oppose militant communist forms of atheism.

But what I oppose most of all is ignorance.

Like the kind of ignorance you get with someone holding court on world religions when basically their only knowledge of world religions is from attending Sunday school for kiddies at some obscure bible thumper church.

^^This person is a pathological liar.

What kind of moron claims there's no overlap between religion & philosophy?

I do not hold your hubris against you. Hubris is never in short supply on message boards.

Your hubris got you into trouble because you know virtually nothing about world religions and religious philosophy, and the extremely limited amount you do know about human intellectual history is filtered through the narrow prism of conventional western European secular thought.

Mencius - Confucian Philosophy

Mencius (fourth century BCE) was a Confucian philosopher. Often referred to as the “Second Sage” of Confucianism (meaning second in importance only to Confucius himself), Mencius is best known for his claim that “human nature is good.” He has attracted interest in recent Western philosophy because his views on the virtues, ethical cultivation, and human nature have intriguing similarities with but also provocative differences from familiar Humean and Aristotelian formulations.

Peter Abelard - Christian Philosophy

Peter Abelard (1079–21 April 1142) was the pre-eminent philosopher and theologian of the twelfth century. The teacher of his generation, he was also famous as a poet and a musician. Prior to the recovery of Aristotle, he brought the native Latin tradition in philosophy to its highest pitch. His genius was evident in all he did. He is, arguably, the greatest logician of the Middle Ages and is equally famous as the first great nominalist philosopher
