The Economy Is The Only Thing Keeping Trump In Office. A Crash Would End Him.

How righty of you. Perhaps you can sense why people take your posts so lightly? You live with your own set of facts and in your own reality. You ignore anything that contradicts your twisted right wing reality.

Inversion fallacy. It is YOU that is living with your own set of 'facts'.

I have a much higher standard for accepting data than you do. You'll believe ANYTHING that ANYONE posts on a web site somewhere!

Well, one thing we know is there are fewer shipments of coal.
I still see regular 2 mile long trains of coal on BNSF rail.
That has got to impact the rail industry.
Apparently not. I still see regular 2 mile long trains of coal on BNSF rail.
One mine is not shipping any coal at all.
You may recall the Harlan County coal mine that shut down abruptly and stiffed the coal miners for their pay. They wisely took up residence on the train tracks blocking a million dollar trainload of coal. And they are still there:

Trump Lied Again: Coal Train Will Not Roll Until Miners Made Whole. "No Pay We Stay."
Can't speak for one mine, but I still see regular 2 mile long trains of coal on BNSF.

Well if you see that all the stats showing the opposite are wrong. The facts are not as important as what you claim to see. It must be exhausting counting rail cars or measuring these trains. http://ieefa.org/eia-u-s-coal-production-to-fall-to-40-year-low-in-2019/

Hello ThatOwlWoman,

Good for them. I know coal-related freighter deliveries here are no more. We haven't seen a single freighter this year so far. Both of our coal-burning plants are shuttered.

One of the reasons coal is being phased out is because it is more labor-intensive, which means that as it does get phased out more Americans lose jobs. Mining it is one thing. Then it has to be transported, unloaded and fed into a furnace. Then the toxic ash has to be removed and dealt with.

They don't show the opposite.
The facts are not as important as what you claim to see.
Not a fact. Learn what a 'fact' is. Try English. It works better.
It must be exhausting counting rail cars or measuring these trains.
I do neither. I just see the trains.
This is a projection of coal exports. It is being affected by China. This 'low' is not all that low. Trains are still moving. Coal is still being exported.

Coal is not being phased out. It is still being used. We are using less of it, true, but it is by no means being phased out.

Hello Flash,

Nutshell version:

The only thing keeping Trump in office are Republicans who refuse to hold him accountable for his crimes. The reason Republicans give him a free pass is because of the good economy. The economy is really the only thing standing between Trump and much more critical review of the Republican-controlled Senate. The House could impeach, but unless the Senate convicts, Trump stays. If Trump's popularity were to plummet with the economy the Republicans who are up for reelection would begin to flip. Once some flip others would follow. Instead of being the popular thing to support Trump, it would become the hold-out thing to support Trump. Those views would flip under pressure.

Basically, as soon as people start losing money, their support for Trump (who has married himself to the DOW) would drop off just like the DOW.
