As far as the children...and I know this isn't a popular response...they were human shields. As sad as their deaths are, our forces cannot sacrifice their own safety or others.

Of course, we could just get the fuck out. They don't want us there anyhow.

I'm anti war and I'd like to see the government withdraw the military from Nato and the middle east and get out of stone aged, tribal dominated Afghanistan.

Are they? That's not where you went with this attack. It wasn't about the basis of war in Afghanistan and it's consequences. You made it an adhom on "White Guys" and you're forgetting that there are some very, very bad people over there in Afghanistan who we're a clear and present danger to our national security and those bad guys have far less respect for women and children then we do.

Now, certainly no one is supporting fuck ups that kill innoncents over there and sure if you want to make a point that our objective in being in Afghanistan has either been completed or is no longer valid and thus we should get the fuck out of there is a legit gripe but it's stupid to make this a "white guy" thing cause your being niave as hell about "the other guys" who will still be there when we leave.

And btw, I don't think that white guys with compensatory issues are the problem. They are only a part of the problem. The fact is we go to war because a lot of people make a lot of money on war. Lives are built on war. Fortunes are built on war. Entire industries are built on war.

White guys: I am obviously, referring to keyboard warriors.
Black guys: I am referring to African Americans here, and whether you understand this or not, there is NO demographic more anti-war than American blacks.

Yes. I do agree with BAC that if he didn't exist they would have had to invent him. I have written in the past that I made a terrible mistake due to what I suppose you'd have to term benevolent racism (much like benevolent sexism, it is really not so benevolent). I judged that he would be far less likely to bomb people because unlike all of our other Presidents and Presidential candidates, he could look at them and see his children, and thus, their humanity.

I was wrong.

However, this does not change the fact that African Americans are the least pro-war demographic.

Agreed and I also agree that Afghanistan has become a FUBAR situation but keep in mind when we went in there they did represent a clear and present danger to our national security and our military response, at that time, was warranted and justified. Is our current presence there justified? Now that's a sticky question that goes well beyond the issue of an entrenched military industrial establishment being propagated.
