Why is it that on the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall that our President is declining Merkel's invitation to attend the celebration?

Suddenly he is 'too busy'????

He has plenty of time to run around for an Olympic bid, but cannot take a couple of days to celebrate an event that marked 50 years of struggle for Eastern Europe to get out from under the boot of the Soviets?

It was amazing to be able to travel in Berlin without having to wear a uniform and to be able to go to Prague and St Petersburg. I wonder if Obama refuses to travel there because the fall happened on part three of the Reagan administration.

Nah... that CAN'T be the reason. He has a country to run... and by that I mean going out and campaigning for the governor of NJ. NO TIME for trivial matters like a tiny wall coming down 20 years ago.
