The Capitol Police are not private security, so you are posting non sequiturs.

The Capitol Police mostly protect the Capitol Grounds, and rarely provide security for people. Providing security for people would be prohibitively expensive. You can point to the President, but how would we apply that level of security to millions of people?

allow me to clarify. It's security for a specific group of people.

Security for many rich people is private security.

security for most poor people is the police.

When you destroy one and not the other, it's more valuable to frame the discussion as "who is denied security?"

poor people need police more than rich people in gated communities in more substantial buildings.

There is very much a class angle to defund the police.

On the capitol, the elitist/populist frame still works. the rich legislators won't defund THEIR police force. just yours.
