The GOP...a WASP nest

Mark Sanford defended Ron Paul and Libertarians against Lindsey Graham.

I also found this:

"But Sanford describes himself as a "conservative's conservative."

"I passionately believe government should only be as big as necessary.

"If that puts me in the category of Libertarian side of Republican...then I guess I'm guilty as charged.""

So my statement was based on what I saw in a quick search. I had not any serious research on the man and never claimed that I had.

Ye Gads! You have to be kidding me? You couldn't possibly mean Mark Sanford do you? If you want to cement the Republican party's fate as a regional party of the deep south then just go ahead and nominate a man as inarticulate as Mark Sanford. Granted Sanford has taken some principled stands but lets face political realities. Mark Sanford, as a politician, couldn't hold Strom Thurmonds jock strap and he's waaaaaaay less tenable as a national leader than Strom was which is saying a lot.

You want a leader to bring Republicans in out of the wilderness? A man that can build a big tent coalition that can win? Here's a guy that can do it. Mitt Romney. He's a moderate. Has executive experience in both Government and the Private sector. Has a demonstrated ability to work across party lines and to complete an Agenda. Ran the most professional campaign of all of McCain's supporters and is probably the best educated of all the aspiring 2012 candidates and is certainly the most articulate. The only major strike he has against him is his being Morman and the bigotry of Bible belt conservative southerners. If Romney can entice them into a coalition or expand the Republican base to where he doesn't need them, then watch out. This man can compete with Obama.

Sanford only supports CHRISTIAN prayer in school though I am certain. If the home room teacher was say a Wiccan, and prayed to the Goddess Sanford and SM would shit down both legs and fill their shoes.

Ain't that the truth!

Do you have link to his policy on wiccans? Or are you just smoking reefer through your rectum again?

Considering his websites says "Endorses teacher-led prayer & displaying Ten Commandments" I think its a good bet that he isn't going to be pagan friendly.

YES on barring transporting minors to get an abortion
YES on banning partial-birth abortions
No civil unions; define one-man-one-woman marriage
YES on banning gay adoptions in DC.

Seems like the PERFECT standard bearer for the "New" GOP...

Sanford can start by leading the ribbon cutting ceremony at the "New" RNC Headquarters...

Is that a AC unit on top of the trailer? If so I bet it's used as a walk-in beer cooler. Sweet!

Why would the GOP nominate a moderate? Are they looking for another McCain moment?

But you actually have no proof.

Just the experience that people who want the 10 Commandments displayed in classrooms are typically not enthusiastic about pagan religions.

It probably goes to that "you shall have no gods before me".
