The GOP has known about FOLEY for over 5 years!

Funny how such a scandal which could dause serious damage to the Republicans control of Congress is now being painted as a Democratic problem by a person who claims to be a libertarian. Funny how these libertarian types run to the defense of their buddies in the Republican party whenever they see the Republicans leadership seriously threatened by a scandal. Remember the Jack Abramoff scandal, at first that was all about Republicans but then the right started saying "the Democrats did it, too" and soon the right had so effectively painted a few Democrats who took money from people who gave money to Abramoff, that is, Abramoff never gave a cent to Democrats but some people who supported and gave money to him did, that it was soon being said everythere that the Democrats took money from Abramoff and then it was all painted as a bi-partisan scandal. So Ya, I am sure that this is the same thing going on here. Crank up that Right wing spin machine and spin it left. And good so-called libertarians will spend all day spinning for you... That Trog is here going after this shows me just how serious the right wing really thinks this is.... Perhaps he can't really believe or handle the fact tthat his Republican party can be this screwed up...
Oh me, oh my. Trying reading everything I've written so far on this, and you'll a see different picture than that which you attempt to paint here.

{I don't recall having any conversation with you (or anyone on any board, or in real-life, anywhere at anytime under any name about the Abramoff scandal ever), so your claims regarding that issue don't attach to me. If you think you have something, show it. I will be polite at this point and refrain from calling you a liar on this, but I will allow you to save face - You can feel free to retract the previous as a mistaken impression regarding my (supposed) stance on the Abramoff issue or you can simply admit it was written with the intent to mislead.}

Summary of my position: I want EVERYONE involved, regardless of their party, to suffer (except the kids). But let's do that based on the whole truth, not partisanship. Frankly, I don't care if the R's lose the leadership as a result of complicity in this.

Should I give you a number for the Sylvan Learning Center or do you think you can find it yourself!!!!!!!!

Translation of Prakoshese: "I wrote it with the intent to mislead, and Trog caught me."

Does the right generally use the Democratic involvement in any scandal to "muddy the waters" and confuse and obfuscate??? Yes, they do! Are they doing this now??? It is quite possible. I find it especially egregious when a person who first says that the Republicans acted appropriately, for instance posts this:
Looks like Hastert did the right thing when the concern became known to him.

And then within hours is calling for an investigation of what the Democrats knew and didn't know...When the same article that prompted the original response actually said the Democrats were out of the loop on this. My question which you have failed to answer is this:

How could Hastert have acted appropriately in his secretive undercover activities and the Democrats who were kept out of the loop here, no doubt because of the explosiveness of the charges, which we are told only today was nothing but "nasty little emails" by Tony Snow??? In fact, your first response was the party line response on this. Hastert acted appropriately, now that this is wearing thin, you are going for the second play in the Rove Playbook, the Democrats are culpable too. Then on to rule three "I just want 'the whole truth' to come out" meaning as it always does, let's "muddy the waters" and shift the blame to the Democrats. If these weren't the exact tactics used over and over as I have shown in every other scandal so far, I maybe could believe you...all except for that first part there "Hastert did the right thing"!!! I don't think anyone not even yourself believes that at this point.

Too many threads.... please see others. NAsty e-mails, nice downplay (barfing face).

I was wrong about the use of the word "nasty" it wasn't even that it was "naughty" evidently carefully chosen by Tony Snow to make the pedophile seem more "childlike and innocent" himself, just being naughty after all, which is not generally something we claim about adults is it, in the face of his attacks on children.

TONY SNOW, WHITE HOUSE PRESS SECRETARY: Good to see you Soledad, thanks.
-----

O'BRIEN: I would assume everybody would want to know, including the president. I mean we're not talking about any old person, we're talking about the leadership of the Republicans in Congress. Why would he not hear something that's disturbing or his office? Over- friendly, when I see that word as a parent and I think any parent would say whoa, over-friendly? Any communication between a 16-year-old and a congressman why doesn't that raise red flags, major, massive red flags?

SNOW: Look, I hate to tell you, but it's not always pretty up there on Capitol Hill and there have been other scandals as you know that have been more than simply naughty e-mails. You know look, again, I'll reiterate my point. I think it's important to protect these kids and make sure that they have a good experience and like you, I want to find out what happened. But before we prosecute let's figure out what all the facts are. That's probably the most important thing to do is to be fair to all parties. (my emphasis)

"simply naughty emails" sounds like something consenting, flirtacious adults would send each other. The Brits might even call them "saucy" emails.
