THE GOP...PARTY OF FAMILY VALUES!

1) Let’s see, now…the GOP considers itself to be the party of “family values”…and it also considers Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump to be exemplars of the party…supposedly outstanding presidents they have brought to guide the Republic.

2) Reagan was a man who cheated on his first wife; got his second wife pregnant before marrying her; and who headed a family so dysfunctional, two of his kids wrote books excoriating both mother and father for their poor parenting skills.

3) Now they have Trump who…

..ahhh, why bother. You people all know the story with this clown.

4) The American Christian right LOVED both of them.

Just a few observations I thought I’d share. Hope I can elicit a few comments on them.

I can almost guarantee I’ll love each and every comment offered.

By the standards of the modern American presidency, Jimmy and Roslyn Carter and Barack and Michelle Obama consistently demonstrated moral character, temperance, and impeccable etiquette.

No other modern presidency is in the same ballpark

So is this the new standard you will hold Democrats to to get your vote? I want to be certain that morality is the new credo from the left. Is abortion moral?

Having a three year old daughter my parenting skills, and helping her become a CEO at an early age, are at the forefront of much of my thought these days. Now I was very young when Reagan ran for President so I don't have personal memories of the campaigns. Was it a big campaign issue at the time that he was supposedly a poor father? I ask that in the context of were voters informed about this and should have taken that into account when voting?

Him personally, no, other than appealing to the usual GOP return to normalcy theme, but the conservative wing of the GOP, and there were actually liberal Republicans at the time, attacked Democrats for their supporting supposed nonChristian life choices, sold well in Southern States where Reagan inherited Nixon's southern strategy

Karl Rove was clever the way he played off the theme by doing his best to insure that those States with GOP controlled legislatures had referendums on their State ballots in 2000 regarding homosexual rights to insure a heavy Christian turnout

But the real emphasis of the "family values" line took off during the Clinton era with talk radio and Fox, nearly ever demogogue was pushing "family values" and the "cultural wars" even though a good number of them were found guilty later of the very vices they were preaching against

That is where the hypocrisy appears today with the leader of the GOP that Republicans are happy to answer being the very antithesis of "family values" they pushed for decades

No problemo, Ass. Thanks for posting again.

What is moral about abortion?

What is moral about welfare and turning millions into dependent wards of the State?

What is moral about wealth redistribution?

What is moral about stealing the hard earned wages of Americans to promote policies that will buy you votes?

There is nothing moral about the Progressive liberal ideology. It has enslaved blacks in urban shit holes for nearly a century. It has impoverished millions for nearly a century. It has led us to numerous devastating wars for nearly a century.

Self-identified Christians are no more or less moral, on average, than anyone else.

I also do not believe that rightwing activist "Christians" ever really gave a rat's ass about moral values in our leaders. Moral values was weaponized and a political instrument to attack Democrats, and elevate Republicans.

The fact that the very same bible thumpers who were so "outraged" about Bill Clinton, but have resorted to deifying and worshipping the noteworthy sleazebag Donald Trump as their Demigod, speaks to just how cynical and phony the whole "moral values" political philosophy was.

Well put

Eloquently true. And this is why they are *still* despised so deeply by the Reichwing. If there is one thing that all hypocrites and frauds hate most, it's a good example of moral character by the "enemy."

Besides morals, should we even broach the topic of which party more consistently infuses the modern presidency with criminality, mediocrity, and gross incompetence?

I leave these names for your consideration:

Tricky Dick Nixon
Spiro Agnew
Bedtime for Bonzo
George Dumbya Bush
Donald Trump
Dan Quayle
Sarah Palin
Dick "shooter" Cheney

Correct, and look what we have today

You know what you call idiots like you that thought Obama was qualified based on skin color. Just in case you forget, it's nigger lover.

The repetitive stupid shit that you keep posting, post after post is stating to get sickening.

Thank goodness the New Left isn't conflicted that way, being the amoral, evil pieces of shit you are.

Again, YOU'RE the one that voted for a nigger thinking skin color was a qualification. If you'd acknowledge that you did just that, there would be no reason to say it. Since you refuse to acknowledge the truth, one has to assume you're as stupid as the average black and have to be told something dozens and dozens of times.

please don't help.....lol
