"The GOP Tax Cuts Didn’t Work"

$20/week in tax cut. My, how you exaggerated in your first post. What did billionaires/corporations save?

did you really get $20 a week?......my own taxes went down about $2000 for the year........given the fact you weren't paying any federal income taxes I'm surprised your taxes went down $20 a week......

The tax cuts worked exactly as planned. As for the lies about the effect on the economy? Was anyone fooled by that?

Their only regret was that they couldn't kill the ACA, with the 3.8% tax on cap gains earnings over $250k/year. They came close, but they failed.

^^Moron thinks tax increases spur economic growth.

How can you say "it helped" when GDP growth has declined to less than 2 percent,

GDP growth under Obama was an anemic 1.48%. I don't recall idiots like you clamoring for Obama to do something about it. So far, under Trump, GDP has outpaced anything during Obamunsim and he had EIGHT fucking years.

Perhaps, but common sense dictates you don't cut taxes and spend more at the same time, and if tax reform was necessary, it appears the manner the Trump tax cut did it isn't working

They are spending more due to Obamacare you simple minded fool. Obamacare didn't come into full effect until AFTER Obama left office. Funny how the Party of the Jackass does that isn't it?

If Hillary had won, we'd be hearing how the deficits are necessary and good because she cares more than anybody on the planet.

I'm old enough to remember 24 months ago, Conservatives predicted 5% growth if their shitty tax cut was passed.

Growth last quarter: 1.9%.

Oh, then that explains the less than two percent growth, got it

He's also lying when he says government revenue was up 2018.

Jan-Dec 2017 saw $63B more in revenues than Jan-Dec 2018.

The Russia Tax Cut started January 2018.

His argument is that you have to take two steps back to take one step forward, which leaves you how many steps behind?

good news for Demmycrats......Bernie has promised that as soon as he's elected he reversing the tax cuts......I guess that means you'll all get money back, right?.....

No, it means we'll all get student debt relief and no longer go broke because of medical debt.

That is a lie. When the 1.4 Trillion deficit record was broken by Obama, Democrats were in power; you lying twat.

Democrats controlled Congress the last two years of Bush's Presidency and the first two of Obama's.

Amazing how quickly "trutie's" generalizations fall to facts

"Trump plans to add $5.088 trillion to the debt in his first term. That's a 30% increase from the $20.245 trillion debt at the end of Obama's last budget for FY 2017. If he remains in office for a second term, he plans to add $9.1 trillion. Trump had promised to eliminate the debt during his campaign. Barack Obama added $8.588 trillion"

Why am I doing great? I mean, I could always use more $, but that depends on me getting off my lazy ass and being more productive. Something I'm not willing to do since I'm retiring in a couple years. I'm comfortable, and have been for many years, but I have taken home $1000 more a year since Trump cut taxes.

Which isn't the $4,000 pay increase we were promised.

$1000 a year is $19 a week.

If your life station was improved so dramatically by an extra $19/week, then your life station sucks.

And I got that $1000 in the form of the first tax return over $50 that I have received in 15 years! Wow! What a coincidence! And if you're "not sure what this is all about", stop coveting thy rich neighbor's goods, and start asking your politicians what they'll do to make things better off for yourself and your country

You only got $1,000?

You must not make a lot of money.

If an extra $19 a week was so consequential to your life, then your life is trash and has little value.

How did they work for you personally? They worked great for me(solid middle class). If you noticed no difference, you probably don't make enough to pay taxes, or maybe your taxes went up because you're nudging that 1% bracket? Trump said taxes for the upper brackets were going to go up(like his). As to the trade war, after the tax cuts and the slashing of regulations, the economy went on a tear. What better time to have a war than when your army has been rebuilt? You want to stop the war? Do you want to roll over and show china your belly, hoping they'll give you a belly rub and not shove a knife in your gut? And of course we can't ignore the 2020 election, which this is all about, right? Trump's "failure" on the economy? Okay, what's the jackass clown car gonna do? From what I've heard, tax hikes and draconian regulations. Boy, that really supercharges an economy, doesn't it!! What are your guys gonna do about the USMCA? Got to let it just fade away, right? It's all icky and tainted with Trump cooties!

You predicted at least 3% growth from your shitty tax cuts.

2018 GDP growth: 2.5%.
Q3 2019 GDP growth: 1.9%

to be fair, I think the tax cuts did exactly what they should have done.......they cut my taxes.......thank you.......

Wow, so that extra $38 a paycheck you got thanks to the shitty tax cut really made the difference in this economy that grew at 1.9% last quarter.

::eye roll::

if you had paid any federal income taxes before the cut you would have gotten a cut too......

So while you're here trying to impress people with the $2,000 you claim you got from the tax cut, I'm just sitting here thinking how an extra $38 in your paycheck managed to grow the economy by the 3%, 4%, 5% you promised, and not the 1.9% that it actually grew last quarter...

Hello cawacko,

Because poor decisions were made elsewhere, specifically the trade war and tariffs, that harmed the economy doesn’t mean the tax cuts were bad policy or were not effective.

True. It was the fact that insufficient revenue was generated to support the budget. That's what indicates the tax cuts didn't work.

The economy was fine before the tax cuts, there was a little bump in revenue following the cuts as some income was repatriated, then revenue dropped off, and has not been enough to cover expenses.

That's why the deficit is a trillion.

What a budget disaster.

Yeah, what about this?

"Okay, what's the jackass clown car gonna do? From what I've heard, tax hikes and draconian regulations. Boy, that really supercharges an economy, doesn't it!! What are your guys gonna do about the USMCA? Got to let it just fade away, right? It's all icky and tainted with Trump cooties!"

And what about you? No tax cut? Why?...or why not? Ya know what? I don't care. I hope that you are happy and healthy, but I don't care about your personal financial situation. And I for damn sure don't care about the personal financial situations of the wealthy, or how they got wealthy...or big corporations for that matter. You should try it, it's liberating

You're here screaming for joy that you got an extra $1,000 back from the tax cut...

...which is just $19 a paycheck...

...which means your wage is awfully low....

...which means that if $19 a paycheck improved your life so dramatically, it is a shitty, small, $19 life you have.
