The GOP's worst nightmare

Taxes for highways benefit the public at large. Taxes that go to support loans and grants for college go to specific individuals for their benefit. I know that you can't grasp individual responsibility and that the needs of society do not outweigh the needs of individual.

I don't drive in AZ. Why should I pay for your roads?

How did they manage to get a picture of that much stupid in one place?

The same way we got a picture of all this stupid in one place!

I think two-thirds of Americans don't go to or finish college and they are paying for the other third to go.

Over half of all young Americans go to college of some form. I wonder who is paying the most taxes. I know who is paying the most tuition.

Colleges in specific and schools in general are seen as a boon to the country. The future will be for the educated and inventive. Research is a huge part of future business. College eduction is for the needs of the nation.

As I stated, only about a third complete a college degree. Sure more get some partial one like an associates or technical degree but those are more like continuing education or trade school than a full degree.

Actually, you claimed that two-thirds of Americans don't go to college:
I think two-thirds of Americans don't go to or finish college and they are paying for the other third to go.

The reality is that over half of young Americans go to college of some form.

Public schools, funded by everybody, were established because it was determined that Americans shouldn't be illiterate.

It has since become obvious that K-12 isn't enough to prepare Americans for modern life,

and that consequently,

everybody must pay for a little more to keep us from being a completely dumbass country,

as if we were comprised of fifty red states.

There are a lot of people in NYC who do not have drivers licenses. Why are they paying taxes to support roads?

Because at the federal level, most of the highway funding goes towards ones intended for national defense. The state can do differently, but in almost every state, a gasoline tax pays for roads. If you don't drive, you don't pay for roads...

Aside from that, those people still benefit from roads. They may take taxis and buses, or use other road bound transportation, so they are still using the roads.

I wonder if anyone with a college education ever becomes an officer, or works for a defense company. I wonder if people without college educations ever go to a doctor with a college education, or buy products designed by people with college educations.

Also, I wonder who pays the most taxes...
