The Immigration Bill

chevron has done very well, I just sold $400,000 worth and it went up $2 more.
I'm glad your a millionaire just two years after whining about medical bills and having a net worth under $100,000 your ex must have been a true anchor for you.
Don't understand the anti corp/investment slant when you've done in one year what most take 20 to do.

I don't have to play the corps games to make money. If I play their game by their rules they make money off me....

And corps are just out to make money. I decided to make enough money to retire on, don't want to be really rich. therein lies a major difference between you and I. I use money and need enough to live on, but consider many other things in life as more important....

and yes my ex took her job very seriously, to blow all the money from one check to the next.

For the low-wage workers yes. For the highly skilled workers, if we are facing this "coming shortage" why not put money into education? Think about it, if you are a large company you can offer tuition reimbursement to your employees and encourage them to become skilled in the areas you need workers in. (High tech it seems).

Have we really become so depraved as a society that rather than do that, we are going to ship in as many high skilled workers as we can so that we can pay them, not 100k, but maybe 30k?

I don't believe that immigration is hurting our wage levels as much as many say they are. But it also wouldn't be true to say that the ideal economic situation would be to let them all in - that WOULD eventually break down labour laws, as if everyone does it no one could compete without letting down their labour protections.

Well, US, there's no reason NOT to make money if you can, LOL.

whambulance at usc.
I consider many things more important than money, but getting rich was easy so I did it. It made my family life and responsibilities easier, that's what I consider important you toothless bumpkin.:clink:

On immigration....

"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore,
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Unless they are Mexican?

That depends on how you make the money and what motivates you to make money.

For example, it is a very shallow method to find meaning in your existence.

And Gecko was wrong, greed is rarely good.

To someone with morals there are several reasons not to make money in certain situations.
for instance I could not rest running a paycheck rip off loan service. Preying on the ones that can least afford it.
But I guess concience would not get in the way if I had an MBA :)

I prefer to sleep nights.

did I ever say I made money like that you loser

LOL I am a winner not a loser.
Anyway, the feel I get from you is as long as you make money it is good.

Your judgement is a bit suspect Spin. I am getting a nice pile of money, health is ok, women are good to me, etc And you think I am a loser ?

That's an emotional argument, Ayn ;) .

If everyone thought like US and, our of their goodwill and trying not to mess with the zero sum game that economics is, only produced what that "needed" (because otherwise obviously you're taking away from someone!) we'd be a third world country and not many of us would be very happy.

You have serious problems if making money and investing on the stock market causes you to lose sleep.

You are entitled to your capitalistic opinion.
I do what works for me, not what works for someone else :)
My biggest mistakes in life have been because I was doing what someone else wanted me to do. Society, family, church, etc....
I do what I want to do (within legal limits of course).

I do have a bit of a moral problem accepting money I did not earn.
I do not gamble for the same reason. A bit of hypocracy there though, I do buy a powerball ticket a couple of times a month....
