Trump is an accidental environmentalist. His repealing the 50% ethanol requirements of the RFS under Obama was supported by environmentalists because the increased acreage need to grow that corn was destroying wildlife habitat, forests, and wetlands. You would know this if you actually kept up with things. Trump's trade wars will reduce CO2 output every time a ship doesn't cross the ocean laden with steel manufactured in high carbon coal-fired furnaces from China and India. I like results and whether he intended these or not, the results will be good for the environment. I disagree with his decision on coal mine riparian setbacks being removed, but on balance, he is doing okay in this regard. Now if you really want to have this debate seriously, explain to me how a $15 minimum wage would have lifted anybody out of poverty without increasing pollution and consumption in the process. Explain to be how driving up the cost of electricity as Obama did and Hillary wanted to do even further would have helped the poor get ahead a foot step. Explain to me how the US continues to exceed reductions in carbon output not being in the Paris Agreement when countries still in it have not. Explain to me how cutting down US forests, pelletizing the wood, shipping it to Europe on fuel burning ships, to be burned in their furnaces as a "renewable energy" is good for the environment. Explain to me how one industrialized nation that is allegedly converting to "Green energy" isn't, in fact, simply exporting their pollution and environmental degradation abroad. No pie in the sky "promises to" do. Show it to me in results. Where are they?
Trump is an asshole, but the only other choice was an megalomaniac bitch. I didn't vote for either, but I make no apologies for at least recognizing that the one America elected isn't nearly as bad as megalomania's Think Blue minions pretend.
