Californians: Can you please store water and build infrastructure to fight fires so our whole lives don’t get turned to ash.

Newsom: Best I can do is spend $50 million fighting Trump.
That's your prerogative.

DEMONSTRABLE DEMOCRAT DERELICTION OF DUTY DEFINITELY DELINEATED

The LA Times reports Mayor Karen Bass was at an embassy cocktail party in Ghana when the #PalisadesFire first broke out last Tuesday.

Bass left LA days beforehand, as weather forecasts were predicting a serious wind event & major fire risk.

Newsom is currently in his second term as Governor, which ends in January 2027.

Although Newsom has stated he has "sub-zero interest" in running for president in 2024, his activities suggest he might be positioning himself for a future presidential run. His national profile has been rising, with actions like debating Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and campaigning in other states. Given he is term-limited out of the governor's office after 2026, running for president could be a viable option, potentially in 2028 or beyond.

If not president, Newsom could aim for Vice President or another significant national role, especially if a Democrat ticket needs a strong candidate from California or the West Coast. Newsom might be considered for high-profile appointments, either within a Democrat administration or in international diplomacy.

  • With Dianne Feinstein's retirement, there's speculation about Newsom possibly running for the U.S. Senate seat. This could be an attractive option, especially if he wants to continue in politics at a national level without immediately jumping into a presidential race.
