Gosh I hope God isn't offended.

Wasn't the moment of silence sufficient? No, Dr. Tugboat Boehbert had to demand an actual vocal prayer. She was SHOWING HER PIETY. If she had read the Bible she'd remember Matthew 6:5. Maybe that's not in her Trump Bible.

Oh yeah, also: we aren't a fucking theocracy.
Who said we were, GM?

I don't disagree at all that what passes for 'debate' is often little more than people yelling at each other trying to score (political) points.

It's why I specifically said discussions, not debate, when talking about podcasts. There are podcasts where smart people operating in good faith engage in legitimate discussions, including disagreements, that are very informative.

I can read an opinion piece in print but there's no rebuttal. To me, to fully understand a topic, I want to hear the points and counterpoints. You don't get that in print.

To each his own, man. But the reality is there are a lot of good podcasts on markets, finance, economics, real estate, leadership and more, which is why millions of people listen to them. You can’t read in the car or walking the dog and podcasts are a great option. Everyone just has their own way of taking in information.

Fair enough

But I have listened to too many sports talking heads to know most are just bloviating off some stat sheet or local hubbub to accept most of what other “experts” are saying

I don’t really listen to sports podcasts, but I’m guessing it’s the same as in other fields. You’ve got your blowhards, but you can usually find one or two that are actually worth your time.

Yeah, like Costas, but most are retiring or dropping out since they don’t fit the ESPN style model
