When a "Right" exists that has limited supply and a monetary cost attached to it, it no longer is a Right as Rights shouldn't be something the government can ration.

Okay, how much education can you be given? If you're stupid can you keep trying your whole life to graduate from high school because you have a Right to an education? How about college? Do I have a Right to one or another diplomas?

You see, education as a Right suddenly becomes a case of rationing and mediocrity rather than getting an education. If I have a Right to a high school diploma, then I should be able to get one anytime I want. I suggest printing them on toilet paper and putting them in public restrooms. That's how much values they'd have. Mediocrity and rationing.

There is no"right" to education enshrined in the U.S. Constitution.

  • Public K–12 education is compulsory (ages ~6–16/18, varying by state) and free in practice, but this is statutory, not constitutional.
  • Higher education has no right—public universities can charge tuition, and admission is competitive.

I was producing a hypothetical. Lots of other, mostly Leftist, nations have stuff like that in their constitutions. A Right to, an education, healthcare, pension... what-have-you. All that stuff gets rationed. Then once one Right gets rationed, ALL Rights get rationed. So, your Right to free speech is curtailed, right to association rationed, etc.

This is what the Left wants for America, Rights that they can control and tell you how much you're allowed, as well as when and where you can exercise them.
