There’s a lot of noise going on in the media now, stimulated by the leftist rage over Justice Kavanaugh’s successful appointment to the Supreme court all about impeaching the justice and or Trump if Democrats take over the majorities in the houses of Congress in November. Apparently Democrats believe that noise is stimulating their base and getting them to the polls. They know as well as anybody that impeachments require bad behavior by Federal Judges and high crimes and misdemeanors actions by Presidents and enough votes in the People’s House to impeach/indict a judge or President. Then it takes 2/3 of the Senators voting to remove a judge or President from office.
Along with the impeachment rhetoric Democrats are also touting the idea that as soon as they take back the Congress they’re gonna pass legislation to revoke the electoral college that Put Bush 43 and Trump in the White House over the popular vote. This too Democrats believe will stimulate the base and get their voters out to the polls in November.
Here’s the deal. Congress cannot “legislate” the electoral college out of existence. Repealing the electoral college would take a Constitutional amendment . Constitutional amendments can only be submitted by 2/3 of both houses of the Congress or 2/3 of the states in a constitutional convention and such proposals must be ratified either by 3/4 of the members of both houses of the Congress or 3/4 of the states, (article 5, U.S. Constitution)
It’s pretty easy for me to see that Democrats and leftist media spouting this insane rhetoric are depending on their voters being idiots to believe any of this horseshit and being inspired by it. In November we’ll see how many Democrat voters really are bullshit inspired idiots.
